Every woman is fragile
If they won’t admit it
publicly or privately
They are broken
I’ve lived with both
That’s how I know
Protect the one
Drop the other
Every man is vain
If they won’t admit it

They are self-absorbed
I’ve worked with both
This is how it should go
Pay the one
Fire the other
Every person is a bank account

They are not balanced

Anastasia Brielle (an unhyphenated compound first name)
liked to criticize what others ordered for dinner
Steak? She'd rather eat the box her toe-FOO come in
(that's how she pronounced it)
Whenever I was in a restaurant with Anastasia Brielle
I'd order things like bacon cheeseburgers
even when I had been eyeing the vegetarian chili.

also liked to talk about the horrors of slaughterhouses
even though exactly no one
wanted to hear it.

It was slaying dragons
Waiting
Because one day
My prince will come
Followed abruptly by
That freshly illustrated
Slick talkin' character
Reminding him
"I can still charm the best of them"
She sits, years later
Older, looked over, just a princess
"I rather go see brave new worlds"
So, to the lover before them, they swipe left
Chasing new tails
Sorry Mr. Disney
That's why I don't trust
Eternal ideal lovers,...
