The Apprentice
the dark lord's young apprentice
his eyes full of hope for promises
made by the lord's dark whispers
of dark magic and adventures
he stood in shadows deep
listening for the presence
of he who promised to keep
the appointment in his essence
A dance of whispers began
and his lord did appear
but the night deceived his mind
for his lord was a lady fair
her full lips red that curled with sin

I was full of myths
and I was happy enough
to have my days broken
when things shifted
I realized you care about you
how I fit in the picture I'm unsure
my fables sustained me
I could ignore the terrible
as long as there was an explanation for it
now my thoughts are full of reality
common sense wins out
you're here alright
but not what people think
you favor the martyrs
it's obvious from the structure of society
leading me down a path

rotating my feelings in the sacred light they're stars in their own right
midnight comes and the moon lights the way
my feelings are part of the lunacy in the nightlight
eyes aglow sparking a red color when they're amorous or hungry
