sky grey as a battleship,
wind as though fired from cannons
I take a turn around the deck
of modern life,
being careful not to slip,
although I did, as it happens,
he said to his wife,
nearly broke my neck ..

The Crow and the Raven
Silence dusk hums, echoing light,
Blackened roots drink falling stars.
Sifting Hollow winds carve breathless verses,
Drifting feathers trace lost names.
Trust unspools in silver spirals,
Dusk and dawn in fibres unseen.
Unseen, fibres in dawn and dusk,
Spirals silver in unspools trust
Names lost trace feathers drifting,
Verses breathless carve winds hollow sifting.

Not Lost
When a scream betrays secrets
and demons swallow the night
never doubt the love of life
still shines forever in your heart
Be braver
brave enough to drag
bold fragments of your soul
through ruin of despair
to find another
then another breath
as effortless as time
embracing cold certainty
straddling the hour
until warmth of expectation
bestows forgiveness
so that peace may once more flourish
feeding hope
to nourish dawn's new light

Calls his predecessor sleepy
On the first day falls asleep himself
Thinks he’s the world’s smartest
Lacks empathy and common sense
Likes to take credit for rain
Blames others when things go bad
Doesn’t give a fuck about people
While everybody goes mad
Goes to see migrants at the border
Some yell “chinga to madre güey”
Like an idiot thinks they love him
Grows more ignorant everyday
Raises the prices of everything
Breaks communication all around
Increases chances of a plague
Maintains a foochi smoochy...

At first a demon will feel like a blessing in disguise
He will tell you lies while looking at you straight in the eyes
He will seem very beautiful and alluring to your heart
Though there’s been a sinister plan right from the start
From the soapbox he’ll persuade and seduce your ass
He will entice multitudes and enrage crowds en masse
A demon loves to create chaos and then have control
And all he asks of you is to submit your will and soul
Evil puts a mask on then struts around in beauty and gold
Twisting the heart and mind...

Sometimes]
In the dead of night, when I'm all alone
Reality seems squishy, the day's strife is done.
Not quite awake and not quite asleep
I don't know if the nightmare is over
Or about to begin
Let me try this again....
In the night season, when I'm all alone
Reality blurs the sounds of the night.
It's just not right, the body is weary
but the mind will not unload.
Again....
I'm all alone chilled to the bone
Alone, alone, reach for the phone
No one to call, no one at all, fall
I'd fall...
