A Farewell to Decency
My friends,
I can no longer understand
The way the world is today,
Why the politics have gotten so…
Dirty,
It seems as if common politeness
Has given way to greed and avarice.
Farewell to the days of decency,
The care for our fellow man,
Living in the time of excess
Seems to be the goal.
Perhaps we as poets, writers,
Dreamers,
Those who envision a world without pollution
Without hate
Strive to write
And compose until our fingers ache,
Our minds united
Raising our voices together ...
I can no longer understand
The way the world is today,
Why the politics have gotten so…
Dirty,
It seems as if common politeness
Has given way to greed and avarice.
Farewell to the days of decency,
The care for our fellow man,
Living in the time of excess
Seems to be the goal.
Perhaps we as poets, writers,
Dreamers,
Those who envision a world without pollution
Without hate
Strive to write
And compose until our fingers ache,
Our minds united

enough is enough
sitting on a park bench
in the late
afternoon
being mindless of the
world around
me
a robin lands in front
of me
he starts his song
so beautiful
it is free on the confines
of the human
imagination
I close my eyes and
let it pour over
me
time goes on and
he is still
singing
twenty minutes
later
the skies grow
bluer
the sun shines more
proudly
and the singing drones
on
...

Hey Dudes,
Please don the mask of sanity
And leave it in its proper place
Where it covers the inanity
Of your ugly hominid face.
Place it before your angry brain
Lurking behind those dopey eyes
Where it prevents the character stain
Your baser antics won't disguise.
Oh you can call it one great lie,
That common courtesy of old,
But it's a finer thing to try
Than your sub cortical scold...
Ever the clumsy cliché cuss
As graceless as a blunderbuss
Or any shameless primal act
Demonstrating your lack of tact.
And leave it in its proper place
Where it covers the inanity
Of your ugly hominid face.
Place it before your angry brain
Lurking behind those dopey eyes
Where it prevents the character stain
Your baser antics won't disguise.
Oh you can call it one great lie,
That common courtesy of old,
But it's a finer thing to try
Than your sub cortical scold...

As graceless as a blunderbuss
Or any shameless primal act
Demonstrating your lack of tact.

You Were Expecting Someone Else?
Hi. You must be Miranda.
Yes. I am. You expecting someone else?
Actually, you're just too early.
Is someone here with you?
Only Tom. He's my husband. You okay?
I see you already are.
Okay. I'm on the bed.
Right. Got some Hawaiian Tropic on you.
Oh, yes. That feels good.
What the...? Oh, my God!
I take it Tom's humping you now.
I can't... I'm not supposed...!
Come on. Feels too good to resist.
Oh, God! Please, Maggie! Make him stop!
Yes. I am. You expecting someone else?
Actually, you're just too early.
Is someone here with you?
Only Tom. He's my husband. You okay?
