Poetry about Teens

The teenage years from 13 to 19 years old can be a difficult stage of life. Here you'll find "coming of age" poems about the transition from childhood to adulthood. Poems are written by teens, or from memories of teenage years.
Girl of the Night
A girl with a smile, never a frown,
Lived a life full and sweet,
Gone too soon, her youth was crowned
Where the lanes and dreams of children meet,
In the tender, dark folds of the night.
Her laughter, a melody true and bright,
By night beneath the sky, she gave her best,
With her love, many men were blessed,
Lived a life full and sweet,
Gone too soon, her youth was crowned
Where the lanes and dreams of children meet,
In the tender, dark folds of the night.
Her laughter, a melody true and bright,
By night beneath the sky, she gave her best,
With her love, many men were blessed,

First Kiss
Our lips traveled miles,
A hundred or more,
To meet and ask for the
Promise of tomorrows.
Warmth and moist,
As an uncharted land.
A single kiss from Virginia
Two kids with unknown futures.
Her tongue grew quiet,
Becoming a delicate envoy,
She carried a whisper of lust
And placed it on my lips.
Her tongue was pure in its intent
And promised me heaven.
Virginia whispered, “Later,”
And so it was to be.
A hundred or more,
To meet and ask for the
Promise of tomorrows.
Warmth and moist,
As an uncharted land.
A single kiss from Virginia
Two kids with unknown futures.
Her tongue grew quiet,
Becoming a delicate envoy,
She carried a whisper of lust
And placed it on my lips.
Her tongue was pure in its intent
And promised me heaven.
Virginia whispered, “Later,”
And so it was to be.

Vintage Beauty
Her breasts, warm beneath my hands,
carry a history I've only glimpsed from a distance
While each of fifty-two years left its mark.
I can almost feel the echoes of that first boy's touch,
a memory etched into her being.
Gazing at the roundness of her breasts
I imagine them swaying for other men's delight.
In the ninth grade, she was already part of
that distinguished 20% who were sexually active,
but she was a dream out of reach for me.
Now, after all the living she's done—
three children, two marriages,
one...

Emily
At the edge of all Emily had ever known,
A decisive moment held her in fierce embrace.
Adrenaline coursed like a raging stream
Through the veins of her body.
In that fragment of her life, all was vivid and clear,
Her boyfriend lay naked beside her in the bed of her childhood,
Two teens in a new town, a world away from past lives.
Emily felt his entrance into a place she’d protected for seventeen years.
There was a presence, and an unexpected warmth.
In the seconds that followed, they discovered a careful, pelvic dance that...

Sketch lines
I know we are young
I know we have no idea where we’ll end up
We’re just finding our way
We won’t stay the same
and I don’t want to
neither do you
I am hiding in the minutes, the seconds
that I get to kiss you
Some day will come, when we break up
and I have to miss you
Cause we’ll fight, come undone
Too many bullets in our guns
To stay safe
To stay this way
We are just sketching out the lines
Too much still undefined
So hold me tighter
Than you’ve ever done before
Let’s come closer ...

MINE IS A GEN-Z
Mine is a Gen-Z,
A Gen-Z full of people who are bruised,
Dressed up in new love, but inside all used.
We hurt each other in search of relief,
And peace? Peace is finding someone who is new.
Mine is a Gen-Z,
A Gen-Z that believes in vengeance,
Tangled in some modern curse,
A cycle that we cannot escape.
Love isn't whole, but shattered fragments
That cut deeper with each attempt to heal.
Mine is a Gen-Z,
A Gen-Z that craves love, yet terrified to fall.
“Single, but happy, we say; still, our bodies say...

First Night
He gazed at his lover with awe,
A body without any flaw.
She was a newborn fawn
With grace now adorned,
Their bodies were deeply enthralled.
For years I had watched her grow sure,
Her skills and her confidence pure.
The boy by her side,
Saw the pride in my eyes,
For my daughter, whose heart was unstirred.
In silence, they lay close together,
Clinging so that no mother could sever.
In the hallway, I stood,
Heard the creaking of wood,
Their whispers as soft as a feather.

Memory from Adolescence
As she entered the coffee shop, a familiar flutter stirred in his chest. Their eyes didn't meet, but he recognized her instantly. Now in her mid-30s, she stood at the counter—graceful and poised. A diamond ring sparkled on her finger, hinting at a life filled with promises and perhaps the births of children. To him, she was still breathtaking, as if crafted by the same hands that placed stars in the night sky.
"The usual," she said, leaning forward with a smile that could still set his heart racing. "With a dash of whipped cream today," she added, a playful...

It Beats Living Out On The City Streets
There are some of us
who agree that letting
a blonde teen appear
naked in a porn movie
or two is not a good
idea. But one thing is
for sure. It beats living
out on the city streets.

Feelin 17 Again
Feel 17 again
In my basement are
Some plastic weights
Wrapped in vinyl
Faking King Kong
Push it up just enough
Get an electric sunburst
And an Amp to spare
Impatient youth
Looks at the axe
With respect
Doesn’t bother to
Put in the time
Friend says how about a trade
Your sunburst for my ganja
Not a thought rattling round
Says you have a deal
Give up my dreams at 17
For Bob Marley
Turn back the clock
Let time stand still ...

Seasons of Lust
Twigs grow tender, leaves unfurl,
Harvest comes for all young girls.
The daughters marvel at the sight,
Their bodies blooming, in nature's light.
Formed in mother’s womb now dust,
The daughter writhing, sows in lust.
Embrace the change, this season's heart,
For you, dear child, are nature's art.
