She Found Me
I was being shy and was trying hide
So I covered my eyes and to my surprise she found me
On that warm summer night under the moonlight
She walked up to me, lifted my cap looking in curiously
“Why are you hiding?” she said with that a smile
The moment our eyes met there was something
As her group of friends and mine met that first time
I felt my heart’s rhythm thumping and bumping
“I’m not hiding” I replied still trying to hide
With a shy smile she must’ve found appealing
I was trying to be smooth in those old days of youth ...

San Vernando Valley Circa 1982
Take a chill pill butt-face
Even though your hella buff,
Rick, you look more like a wannabe
That freakazoid is ralphing all over her shoes
Big Whoop, Crissy’s a foodie and a wasteoid
No duh. I knew Jenn was like a gazillionaire.
She vegged out all day, hanging out with Chris, getting high.
Doug is a bodacious surfer.
He tells everyone to eat his shorts,
when people are criticizing his tubular moves
Brad is so grody. His bod though isn’t as gnarly as Ken’s.
Barf me out. Gag me with a spoon. Let’s motor outta here. ...

THROUGH TIMES EVAPORATIVE HEALING TOUCH (time, date & place unknown?)
my heart my mind
my eyes
hold tears
they cannot yet release
express nor cry
long trapped beneath
my early childhood s
and adolescent s
now long passed
long lapsed
though somehow
still ongoing
haunted crumbled ruins
entombed in sleep
long buried and hid away
so deeply self compartmentalized
in subconscious paralysis
long frozen from some
long suppressed early fear
or long forgotten
inner pain ...

The Faceless - Flash Horror
I had to leave. The atmosphere at home was radioactive. I could feel my flesh melt, and my hair fall out. I left at night with no money. I had the clothes on my skin, a raincoat, a lighter, a solitary cigarette, and for some reason, a note pad.
My father told me to write it down, get it out of my head. Write it down. Write what down? Write the babble, the paranoia, the fear, the hatred of the capitalist system, the pain of falling in love with people who needed more than a sense of humor to form a relationship, write it down, and then forget about it....

eighteen, I guess
it was uncommon in dartford
to meet two attractive french girls in the pub, and me and my mate
derek were immediately besotted,
although, unfortunately for the
sake of our friendship, both with
the same one, not that it mattered; neither of ‘em fancied us ..

[sometimes underground walkways, other times private parking lots]]
We curled into each other,
in the parking lot,
hooked, lined and sinkered,
legs and arms and blankets
where electric lights and Mercedes cars
stayed dry from the wet gloom of the city.
He had a bottle of cheap cider,
they had cigarettes, passed them 'round,
called me the 'Angel',
we found this place as it was an alley away
from the youth centre we went as kids
when we had nowhere else to go.
With no one else to listen,
they taught me...

Diary entry - Kissing Kyle
Diary entry from my mother, Janice (Nizana), that I found yesterday. It was on her computer which is an unorganized mess of photo and text files. I might find more.
March 12, 2014
I spent the afternoon working on a new flowerbed in the backyard, a project I had been contemplating for weeks. Kyle, a 15-year-old neighbor with a passion for gardening, offered to help me bring my vision to life. He and Lauryn had been friends since childhood and since he was known to be a good worker, I hired him to help me a few afternoons after school. The warm sun embraced us as my hands dug...

In Her Girlish Wistful Gaze
In her girlish wistful gaze,
She now laments those fleeting days.
Youth's whispered echos, soft and clear,
Her innocence fades, replaced by fear.
Regret looms like clouds from her past,
Her youthful lust is all that lasts.
She now laments those fleeting days.
Youth's whispered echos, soft and clear,
Her innocence fades, replaced by fear.
Regret looms like clouds from her past,

The Wolf's Lament
Do you think the wolf cried when it caught you?
Do you think it sobbed for hours after it consumed your heart, feasted on your soul?
You ran so fast,
You must have been exhausted.
You were so small,
Delicate and childlike.
Your grace was unknown,
Your mind not yet mature.
Your legs barely had enough strength to carry you,
And you had ran as much as you could.
When you dropped to the ground,
Feeling the bed you were soon to lie in,
Were you scared?
When those teeth wrapped carefully around your throat, ...

If Everything Were Right
If Everything Were Right
In life's tapestry of twists and turns,
A paradox in each lesson learned:
If all were right, no shadows cast,
Would we truly cherish moments past?
For sweetness blooms in contrast's embrace,
In shadows' dance and challenges we face,
If skies were always clear and bright,
Would stars still dazzle in endless night?
The bitter taste, the uphill climb,
They lend the heart its rhythm, its rhyme,
If everything flowed as a tranquil stream,
Would spirits yearn, would we dare to dream?

Young Love
When I think about you
I think about dads blue F150
And Zac Brown Band CHICKEN FRIED blasting on repeat
Those winding Georgia roads
A little sick and a little in love
We begged our parents for $300 and some alone time
Yours said yes way quicker than mine
Betsy convinced Penny and of course she agreed
10 hours on the road with hands gripped
Together on laps and faces on faces
We became adults in those 3 days alone
To the grocery store we went
“Lets make the perfect grilled cheese” you said
Damn you knew how much I loved...
