Classmates
He looked on as Carina jogged along the track
No matter how many times she passed him in the park,
She pretended not to notice him gazing at her
His thoughts went wild as she treaded the final lap
How he wanted to walk her to the changing room
He used to sit behind her in biology class,
But he never made a pass at her as the other boys did
He just watched her go when the bell rang
She did not know the one whose heart loved her so
If she had suspected it, he would have admitted it
The coach had subjected her to rigorous training, ...
No matter how many times she passed him in the park,

Just Another "Loss", Brooklyn, '57 - '58
it was the opened-window days of the place,
the "borough", Kings County,
Brooklyn,
that an "awareness" was wrought of an iconic
desertion, a monumental misplay, and
the forlorning of true believers in
white, (red-stitched), perfect orbs,
wooden clubs, tan dirt and green grass,
had ruled so many a psyche for all of
forty-four seasons.
1957's summer........the team was soon to be
Gone.
A shock-wave of...

Just Do It
The New York Marathon Is finally Calling
No more time to waste, no more time stalling
I am so frightened, for the biggest day of my life
Can I finish this marathon for all the times I suffered the muscular pains in strife
Seventeen more days
Bib number, sports bra, Nike biker shorts, sneakers, ready to run and play
In remembrance as I trained through the storms, the rains
The torrid damaging hurricanes
Indoor track, around and around as I went in the midst as snow outside remained
Nike after Nike sneakers, worn, tattered and old ...
No more time to waste, no more time stalling
