Sunnyside continued-11
Willie crept forward cautiously on his way to Robert Paul's house. The night was filled with the smell of smoldering timber and a warm, orange glow lit up the area. From a safe spot behind the remnants of the sawmill, Willie kept watch out for any Union Soldiers. He spotted a few scattered groups of them, so he decided to stay put and wait for a more opportune moment to move closer.
Bessie and Paul’s daughters came face to face with three Union soldiers as they opened the door to the smokehouse. Unarmed and vulnerable, the girls presented an inviting target for the enemy. In a...

Black Jack: The Legacy of Pershing
In the relentless flow of time's grand arc,
Rebirth cast me anew,
A soul once woven in history's stark,
Emerges in a world it once knew.
They called me Black Jack, a name from the past,
In this new life, under a different sun,
Yet echoes of old wars thrum in my heart so vast,
Where battles raged and rivers of blood did run.
In dreams, I march through No Man's Land,
Amidst the relentless thunder of the guns,
Where tanks plowed through the muddied land,
Beneath the smoke that blotted out the suns.
I hear the deafening...

A Warped Tree
Today, when not arguing with Walter the Jew
on Facebook or Twitter
the ambiance in the house was surprisingly calm since I got a key to my study in peace to read my latest collection
and found, at times, the poems had an internal rhyme and were little stories
The pity is, I have to write without a publisher and
can't afford to hire one, those I dare to ask run a thousand miles, one of them a poor man, is a lecturer in Udevalla
Last year, I visited a crooked tree so shy its roots curled in bashfulness, and its leaves took an autumnal...

The Self-crowned emperor of the French
In seventeen sixty nine a child was born
in Corsica, Genoa's former vassal state.
Prior to his birth, his land had been war-torn.
Paoli's resistance did his birth predate.
At school, his geometrical talent was inborn,
and he was tutored by none other than Laplace.
For his accent, his peers at school laughed him to scorn,
but fortune would elevate him from grass to grace.
With his much older heartthrob he tied the knot;
much to the chagrin of his own dear family.
For the heart of Josephine he relentlessly fought,
and...

THE RAPTURE IS AT HAND: THE DRYING UP OF THE RIVER EUPHRATES IS THE SIGN !!
The Rapture will involve people dying - mass death.
Nobody will go up without dying. Forget what your pastor told you.
He doesn't know (and may not even care?)
We read that the Rapture is somehow connected to the River Euphrates(Revelation 9.14-15).
It doesn't say the Rapture explicitly.
But it does speak of "the hour and the day" which is code for the Rapture.(Because when Christ spoke of "the hour and the day," (Matt.24.36)
He was referring to the time of THE RAPTURE.
(Later on we read of "the Euphrates drying up" (Rev.16.12).

The Perfect Weapon
a horror story
'You don't understand,' cried Laura, 'the British Army wouldn't do this!'
Even in their dire situation, Tina had to laugh at this hopelessly naive platitude. She stood with Laura and Michelle at the ingress to an underground cell. It contained a medieval-looking chair which was bolted to the floor and had wires sprouting all over it, as well as shackles attached to its arms and legs.
To the right was a cabinet with a sound box on it. Michelle had turned this on and a cacophony of male screams had filled the room before she hastily switched it...

Army Of Empties
Grasping at air, hungry for more
locked behind eyes, a forever closed door.
We are the many, gone are the few
who ever among us sanity knew.
Every nuance of human spark
now flickers to fade here in the dark.
Are we the same robotic selves
whose voices resound in similar pall.
Whom was I, can't I ever know
first I was here yet ever slow
guarding the thing I held to strong
now it trails behind our throng.
Each step we make a stumble forth
our inner compass unregisters north.
Hope gets...

A Ukrainian Girl
I was walking home from the house where I did laundry. The kind Russian lady let me borrow books from her library as long as her officer husband didn’t find out. It was close to curfew in Odessa and I knew this would arouse suspicion. Worse yet, my mother would be angry.
At the corner before my street, a soldier appeared. He had a young and fearful face. My hoodie was pulled over me and I continued toward my street thinking he’d let a young girl pass or inform his superior.
It was a clean stab into my ribs. His rifle came up from his side so quickly. I only saw...

Vampires
We hear the gunfire off in the distance
We find ourself picking up pace in that direction
No more than filth covered skeletons trekking through the jungle
War harden with dead men eyes looking for the next skirmish
We know our positions and the way that we each move
The natural predators here give us a wide girth
For they have all agreed this is man's war
They have agreed to come together as one and clean up the battlefields
But for now and from afar they watch as we kill
They don't understand it, because we are defying the...
