Show and Tell
no more dolls
no more toys
no more games
by middle school
childhood is not just gone
its obliterated
an eighth grader
brought a gun to school
he's showing his friends
one of his besties
gets to hold the clip
this goes on
for three days
finally a student reports it

I Pledge Of Allegiance
This world is progressing very fast and somehow, I will have to say in the wrong direction, what was once looked upon as moral decenary has been tainted with the new order of comprised political views, or religion depravation. We tend to live our lives by why we type one keystroke at a time or allowing our brain cells to be debased of intellectual stimulation.
The youth, who are the gems of our future are caught in culprit of this New World order ideology. Accepting the corrupt views of what was known from the beginning of time, man and woman, marriage, rearing your children...

THE EXAMINATION DESK
It was the day of nine o’clock G.C.S.E math’s exam. We lined up outside the lunch hall like conscripts awaiting basic training. The black painted mesh of the bike shed was flaking. I picked at it. I felt sick. I snuck into the drama block to smoke a roll up. It made me even sicker. I came back, I took my tie off, and then my jumper.
‘Where’s your tie?’ said Mr. Clumper.
‘I don’t feel well, you don’t need to a tie to pass an exam,’ I said.
‘Rules are rules. Put your tie back on.’
I obeyed. I looked at my friend. He was browsing a revision book. He was...

Cabbages And Hamhocks
Listen,
There are many types of stock pots and even crock pots, but, use them according to the quantity of food within size there of. This one I'm about to discuss is the Imusa Pot 32qt. Pot. Here's ingredients needed for this ah cool!
Ingredients:
(80) 4LB. Pack of Hamhocks(Pork Hocks)
40 Green Cabbages
1 sharp knife, 1 cutting board(LARGE),
And 50 sticks of butter
-This is no lie for this pot size, and, can be purchased at Ralph's Grocery Store too for $39.99. This is the real seasoning quantity size!

I Escaped, But Only Just - Part 5: Aloof From My Peers
I attended a Jewish High school in the north of England that bore a vague resemblance to the kids from the Beverly Hills. Our family weren’t rich - and therefore, I didn’t belong socially. In time, I would face a new issue that marked me as different: labels I hadn’t paid attention to before. Remedial. Autistic. Slow. Educationally Subnormal.
The first day passed uneventfully, though, and I found myself looking forward to going back the next day. Carrying a briefcase of my own gave me a strong sense of pride and I soon got used to the routine of making my way to a different...

Literary Criticism
A couple of brief reflections,
one prosaic, one poetic.
(Both pathetic!)
(adapted from a couple of social media comments)
I grew up in a deprived seaside area, a town where all the county councils dumped their human refuse, so to speak, meaning in effect that we had a lot of mercenaries, untreated psychiatric patients, and even sexual offenders wandering around. The sort of place where you’d sit in McDonald’s and the mothers in the next booth would point at a man walking past and say “he’s a paedo”, or “he deals drugs.”

School's Out
Over the summer
my name
and my class-generated nicknames
won't be called one thousand times a day
"Ms G, I wrote a song I want people to sing at my funeral"
"Ms G, Darius took my pencil"
"Ms G, can I move seats?"
"Ms G, Marco said my hair smells like pickles and baloney!"
"Ms G, I need a pad"
"Ms G, I need a pad"
"Ms G, I need a pad"
(every girl in my 6th grade class has her period every single day)
"Ms G, look! If you turn this stencil of a jellyfish upside down, it looks...

Wade
A man who I went to school with died recently. His name was Wade. He was 50 years old. He and I were both born in 1971. He was a few months older than me. I'm not going to mention his last name because it might possibly cause his loved ones grief. This makes seven people that I went to school with who are now deceased.
Let me tell you about something that happened a few days before Christmas when I was in the second grade. Every student brought a gift to school to exchange for Christmas. The gift that Wade brought was a small, crappy football that was blue. When Wade showed me the...

Speechless (2012)
The closest I ever came to love
Was with the girl 5 doors to the left
Of my old place, when I first met her
She swept me off my feet
If anyone could hear it
They would dance to the beat
Of my heart
Which paced faster than that Bolt Usain.
Some days later you was like
"Kapulwa, Hey"
And I was like
💭Damn! She knows my name! 💭
"Uh, hey!"
I couldn't say much at the time
I was too shy to make her mine
Too weak, that's true
Too scared to know
If she wanted me too
Be it flying, walking on...
