Drag Thoughts
Drag thoughts
Thoughts drag
Drag story time
Reading books
Drag thoughtful
Pleasure in human flesh
Thoughtful drag
Lifts up my spirits
Just want to exist
In this hateful place
Not putting upon
What makes me be alive
Thoughts in drag
Reasoned and respectful
Why can’t they be one of us
When they give so much love
Not asking for anything special
Just to be realized as human
And not a freak of nature
The only thing they groom
Is...

Bliss (etheree)
Cool
crisp air
sweet chirpings
whispering leaves
carefree clouds sailing
across the azure sky
soft glow of the evening sun
soulful song and divine coffee
old book smell speaking ancient secrets
words dancing delightfully in mind's eyes

a skimmer of stones on the surface of knowledge
a mere dilettante, of course,
I struggle to look deeper
into the pond, when there are
so many rivers

Almost Sylvia Plath
To endure and not spill at all.
I abandoned myself like a patchwork.
And I peel the epidermis from me like pomegranate seeds.
I juggled once more.
A sort of wandering spectacle, my exit
A captive without parchment,
detain the scarf.
The persona, the jointed hollows, the array of molars?
Soon, on strike the steak
And I, a lady, a superior lady.
This is the ceramic femur.
What a billion embellishments.
They flay my palms and soles—
These were my fingers
My elbows, no, my elbows ache.
Yet...

POP
there was something very scary.
in that look.
in those dilated pupils.
in that drooling dead mouth.
all, all, all open and receptive.
In the background, someone said a linguistic gem.
as if the music had stopped being heard.
I found you strange and continued my way along the gallery walls.
an endless stream of still lifes.
Everything about that scene brought to mind paintings.
by some unknown pop art artists.

Relating to Genius
I haven’t felt closer to great poets
than when I heard that Dylan Thomas
liked to eat sweets and consume detective stories
in the bath. To where his wife would hide
the books in hope that he’d sit down to work instead.
I may never write an Under Milk Wood,
but I’ll be reading classic crime
with dolly mix until I’m dead.

one likes to come across odd books and stuff
serendipity in a second hand bookshop is less of a thing than
it was, because of the internet I
guess unexpectedly coming
across a second hand bookshop
is serendipitous enough

The Sammelband Dream
I saw two dark volumes of ancient text
with their cover boards in a collate twist
and old water damage that left them flexed,
which is just the thing no scholar can resist.
They were under an old magazine stack
of surplus National Geographics
and a Britannica set, on a rack,
with an undiscovered script of Sapphics.
They were the totem midnight mind précis
of all the old books I will never read
or quick scan on a literary spree,
were I an immortal cranked up on speed.

there’s something still to do
like to keep a book
by the bed
I wish to read, although
maybe
not
yet
I think
I’ll continue to live
whilst I have something
still to do
by the bed
I wish to read, although
maybe
not

I think
I’ll continue to live
whilst I have something

all it took
flicking through london in the seventeen hundreds like a quick visit to a bawdy house
and all it took was to put
down the book and say hello,
darling, I’m back
