a May Morning
May Morning
A strange morning, clouds look like they were trying
to put up wallpaper, but the work was too much, and they left the project.
Drips like glue fell into the sea and became flakes of sunlight.
An airplane crossed the sky. It looked old, and it wheels were not retracted
perhaps it was a private plane doing a bit of exercise keeping its owner alert.
A seagull flew past it was a big one hardly flapping its wing, how I envy its flight.
So, why are you not happy?
I have seen so many oceans they are all the same…wet.

dog eared disfigured
spine gnarled
and willingly abused
discolored
smudges to lettering
yet still intact

to be cherished

above all others
many attempted

to curry the same favor

set sail at sunset
Set sail in the Sunset
When the world was big
and the ship I was onboard left Trinidad
sailed to the Panama Canal.
We crossed the Pacific Ocean, and we were alone
in a world so big.
Then the Indian Ocean, the world was endless
finding an island, a needle in a haystack.
It was long ago, long before Apollo made the world
into a small planet in the vast universe
and the moon was a balloon, as David Niven said.
Our world has shrunk, it is a tiny place, yet we fight
for religion or some silly political views.

man and his dog
Morning sight
A man and his dog
Are coming out of a house
The man has an umbrella
The dog is not happy.
It stops by the curb
Empty its bowel, pee and
Sniff a tree.
The man, further down
The street calls his mutt
It ignores him
Runs back to the house.
This is not the weather.
For long walks.

after Trump
After Trump
Now that Trump has gone but not for good
What shall we hate next?
When our love affair with Joe Biden is over shall
We look a bit closer to his politics we know he is
A politician for all-season I like to ask the question:
How come he has gone from relative poverty
To very rich?
The answer is that he has been paid by big business.
To represent their interest and only theirs, the people.
Are only useful during election time.
He has already adopted some of Trump´s policies

who tells lie?
Who Tell lies?
“Hey, this is the internet everybody lies.”
this was a throwaway sentence in a TV program
forgotten by the one who spoke the line or when
it sounded right.
It made me think is the world less honest now we have internet?
If this is so is it because we don´t see the people we lie to.
What about me do I tell lies?
Yes, at times when intrusive people ask questions
I find no ground to answer. I´m also a writer and use things I have
heard or read what happened in my and others live to tell a story.

Restriction, restriction
The world is getting mad, and the police patrol cruises the street
if you are caught without a mask heavy fine awaits.
I see some schools are open, but some are not, there has been an outbreak
of the pest in some of them.
Happy days for parents whose children are at school it is good
to be rid of the little blighters for a few hours.
In Norway, you can go to any restaurant or pub
but you can´t by alcohol- mine is 7up, cola for my friend-
Only in Norway can they do this.
But we have been here before when the Christian-...

We must say one thing clear the pandemic is running us
we try to reduce its influence by wanting people sitting in weeks in and weeks out

The vaccine has a field day.

the anscient regime
The ancient regime
I was in Shanghai once during the cultural revolution
everyone mostly young people wore the same grey clothes
half military cut, not a colour in sight except for the flag.
And the book they gave everyone called “Mao´s little red book.”
where words the new China was printed, those
who argued had to confess in public and sent to a camp,
or farm this to learn to be a worker.
Of course, in this socialist paradise, we were not allowed
to go ashore and the was a guard by the gangway to be sure
we didn´t run away.

Friday shopping
Friday shopping
The farmer and I went shopping every Friday
(horse and cart) to a small town at the lowland, the shop had a stable.
This place had no café or bars; the farmers congregated in the stable
And drank from a bottle.
The farmer in an expansive mood gave pennies to buy ice-cream
It was not much of an ice- cream; I walked around looked into shop windows
Selling things, I would not dream of buying.
When I came back the cart has fully loaded the staff in the shop had
Seen to this, outside the town the farmer fell asleep I took the...

a man remembered
The man remembered
He had been a popular TV entertainer, written a book
and sang his songs we could all understand.
He was tall, looked heroic, sort old Vikings we hoped
they had looked like.
but most of all he had a left-behinds song called
“Amanda”
Which was about a motorboat but had to come
to symbolize the suffering womanhood of the world.
He set out to find the song up a mountain of bad
the poetry he climbed, through a plateau of forgotten
Musicals, across a lake of a petrified sea- shanties
And rhyming verses,

poetry and work
Poetry and work
I sit here in front of the computer,
thinking I dislike rhyming poetry it goes on my nerves
Repetitive words to make it sound classical, and who
decide what classical or mere writing is?
We admire some poems because we have them as pensum
at school, we learned by heart, but there is no reason
Kipling should be taught in Sweden unless one happens
to like reading for its own sake.
I think the verb “verb” should be erased from the language
and replaced with activities we like to perform.
Let robots do the cement...
