Somber Season
Notice her skeletal hand
As she tugs the wine soaked curtains
See her dirty nails….
…..Or what’s left of them
For they’ve been chewed to the cuticle
I think she gave up long ago
When the seasons soured, she often wonders what went wrong
The renewal of spring, the sunny kiss of summer, the crimson and carmine of autumn, and winter’s pearlescent days
She never liked the cold, it consumed what little warmth was left
But there were angels in the snow, and that was enough for her
Four seasons have dissolved into a muddy river ...

Do You Want To Get It On?
After they got themselves out of the
rain, Brad lit a match to start a
fire before he saw Claire getting naked and
asking "Do you want to get it on?"

Rain
On the echoes of a messenger's voice sings of Heavenly bequeathed love
Peace and war in the masterplan always proclaimed from the hands above
Yeah, though I walk through the valley of the shadows of death
Archangel Michael and Archangel Gabriel’s welding sword
Harken unto the cry of the horn
The highest Cherub entwined divinity
Asunder to the earth
Carnage upon the soil with one third of Heaven to deceive in its reborn
On the echoes of a messenger's voice sings of Heavenly bequeathed love
Peace and war in the masterplan...

Columbian Rain
High tempers in full humidity
Wind becomes a telltale sign
'Storms a brewing' as we say
Muddy clouds spill out sparingly
Never enough, better than none
Scorching streets screaming
Aloud, a fresh smell of relief
Allowed such short reprieve
Before heat returns with a loud
Spiteful buffet of vengeance
I draw deep, fresh air sweet
Cherishing before it runs stale
November only six months away
So, 'While I breathe I hope'
Wind becomes a telltale sign
'Storms a brewing' as we say
Muddy clouds spill out sparingly
Never enough, better than none
Scorching streets screaming
Aloud, a fresh smell of relief
Allowed such short reprieve
Before heat returns with a loud
Spiteful buffet of vengeance
I draw deep, fresh air sweet
Cherishing before it runs stale
November only six months away
So, 'While I breathe I hope'

You could be forgiven for thinking all was well;
for failing to read the signs
that a storm would visit imminently.
But against the backdrop of a curious calm
was a sense that something had shifted.
The sky crackled with a strange electrical charge
just moments before torrential rain
began to pulverise the buildings;
an urgent hammering,
while the wind howled in anguish.
We stood resolute, silent, through the hideous squall,
unable to take cover inside;
powerless to arrest it in its tracks.
Finally, the worst was over.

Storm Dusking
The forecast says rain at midnight
and now the clouds are moving in
north by northeast through the twilight
in grayscale blown thick and thin
to hide the diminishing blue
of a once warm and sunny day
with a sea breeze so fresh and true
you'd think sheer bliss was here to stay!
Yet it dwindles in time for bed;
the evening rush of air abates
and ataraxy in its stead
implores that all thought contemplates
another week of gloaming rain
from Neptune and his bounding main!

Rain in Asian Forests
In the forests of Asia,
where the green unfolds.
The rain dances in leaves,
in a silent ballet,
falling like nature's tears,
mysterious,
a veil that embraces the earth,
a song that echoes.
Under the canopy of trees
the rain persists and sings
washing old logs,
calming the nervous,
the rivers sway, they run free,
impetuous.
And the birds take shelter,
in their nests, for nothing.
On the leaves, drops shine
like rare pearls
and the winds whisper secrets
among the samaras.

Sonnet of light, fall and ground.
In the vast sky we raise our wings.
Like bold birds reaching for the heights.
Flying is a dream, it's an escape, it's a desire,
but destiny, treacherous, makes us jump.
On the flight, we felt complete freedom.
The wind rocks us, the world expands
but the abyss lurks, the serene fall
and the ground awaits us at the end of the path.
Ah, the taste of thin air on your lips.
The sensation of defying gravity.
But oblivion is like a spreading fog.
And when we fall, lost and undone,
our wings become memories, fade.

It Was During A September Rain
Jacob told me it was
during a September
rain that he and Zelda
finished skinny dipping
but lost their clothes.

he always kept his head
he always wore a trilby and
a raincoat whatever the weather
was appalling
that morning he kept his trilby and
his raincoat on in bed ..

Flood Warning
the day sacrificed itself to me
shifting in the moment from grey to blue
I hate the grey days
I was sullen inside and needed the sun
an internal storm was building inside of me
it was a flash flood warning
meaning I might cry
I held the feeling tight
shaking it off as it threatened rain
I was stoic not showing anything
but I felt it as an irrational fear
fear of everything and nothing
this world is beautiful but deadly
it hurts this place physically and mentally
to feel happiness is to know pain intimately...
