Native Sky
I now sit beneath a native sky
reflecting upon the past
how it did not last
without ever answering why
Despite all of this deep pain
for a people displaced
for a culture then erased
to allow some manifesting gain
But each angry red sunset
reminds once once again
dips deep my lone pen
writing lines I dare not forget
About what it means to lose
the dreams of a lost land
to be dismissed out of hand
forever unable to freely choose
Never again able to now face
the future...
reflecting upon the past
how it did not last
without ever answering why
Despite all of this deep pain
for a people displaced
for a culture then erased
to allow some manifesting gain
But each angry red sunset
reminds once once again
dips deep my lone pen
writing lines I dare not forget
About what it means to lose
the dreams of a lost land
to be dismissed out of hand
forever unable to freely choose
Never again able to now face
the future...

Murderers
I do not expect murders to disagree with Israel massacring innocent Palestinians.
The wicked, bloodthirsty American military would do the same thing.
Speaking as a mixed Jew, I do not support the evil Israeli foreign policy,
And neither do I encourage genocide, racism, injustice, and oppression.
Aggression and terrorism are wrong, but we need to identify the real terrorists.
People who face perpetual oppression will rise up against the oppressors.

We Need One Another
The earth was not made for only one race.
Every race and nation belong here.
Moreover, all human beings are equals.
No person is superior to another.
We need the Negroes and the Caucasians.
We need the Jews and the Arabs.
We need the Chinese and the Indians.
We need the Asians and the Eskimos.
The colour of a man’s skin does not matter.
Rich people have the right to life.
Poor people also have the right to life.
Together, we all make the world beautiful.
Every race and nation belong here.
Moreover, all human beings are equals.

Tearful Trail
Only the strong will prevail
on this tearful trail
where tears make it muddy
every single step the ruddy
Forced on for these long weeks
along with the Cherokee and Creeks
heading further out west
without food, water or rest
On and on for days without end
with a resolution that will not bend
to these most dire times
defying all sentimental rhymes
Even though it was long ago
my tears continue to flow
when I again remember
pain with its enduring ember
For all that remain are the names ...

Vote Blue
Trump's speeches are half Hitler and the other half Mussolini
his mind is as soft as over cooked linguine
His brain is working at less than 2/3rds
and at every campaign stop he slurs his words
He espouses conspiracy theories about things that are untoward
this poor man belongs on a psych ward
DJT is mentally ill
and can't afford to pay his 464 million dollar bill
The MSM is dodging this issue still
and unbiased journalism is now a lost skill
Four more years of Trump and American Democracy is through ...

End of the Trail
Tales of woe and travail
wait at the end of the trail
for the tears have all dried
having no longer been cried
Since truth is a bloody matter
beyond the usual chatter
of polite conversation
devoid of any true transmutation
Battles now fought and won
bleached out in the prairie sun
along with all those lost
from such a bitter-most cost
Leaving only native names
after these real estate games
with blood soaked soil
taken for the enduring spoil
But how to own earth and sky
without ever...

The Other America
Blacks here live in places like N'awlins, B-more and Chiraq
where hard working people have to watch their back
Because from both the cops and criminals we are under attack
and the courts will not cut us any slack
Our country is divided by an ethic, religious or political wall
in order to survive my people climb mts. that are Everest tall
We live on a social-ecomonic isthmus
Where crimes on us by both Whites and Blacks we witness
At best, for us the glass that hold life's joy is only half full
but, least we are no longer...

Public Enemies of States
Being melanated put targets on our backs
The Hate U Give cause we're so called Black
Deck's been stacked and we know the deal
Lashes on our backs not given time to heal
Using steel to kill and extinguish dreams
Even skin folks are playing for other teams
It seems that green is all that they pursue
Here in the lands of the red, white & blue
Where hue may hinder growth & ascension
Remaining stagnant as if we're in detention
An affliction better known as P.T.S.D.
Shell shocked flocks; post traumatic slavery ...

Your Brother In The Struggle
We came here as his chattel
sold on auction blocks like cattle
Our women he raped and disrespected
even today they remain unprotected
They laughed, smoked, ate and drank
while bodies of hung black men rotted and stank
Now shoot us like rabies carrying dogs in the street
or take us to jail after our heads they beat
It is sad to see
that after 300 years we are only semi-free
All these things in my mind I juggle
as I remain your Brother in the struggle
sold on auction blocks like cattle
Our women he raped and disrespected
even today they remain unprotected
They laughed, smoked, ate and drank

Wounded Knee
Poetry Response to “Wakan Tanka Nici Un”
by Soaring Eagle
How do you heal a wounded knee
one daring to stand free
recalling those distant years
which haunt this trail of tears
With no real destination
resisted without hesitation
although the road is bled red
hope is always wed to dread
So, what have I yet to learn
as my pale skin shall burn
beneath a rusted sun of truth
shining through since my youth
Listening to theses...

No Monarchies!
Of the rich the poor should be suspicious
since we remember from old afflictions
that too much cash makes them injudicious
and prone to corruptions and addictions.
Evil hides behind tradition's shield
and unchecked influence leads to bad things
which is why old Yankees took to the field
to tell the world that...WE DON'T NEED KINGS!
Yet now we're told to kiss the rich man's ass
and that any sort of foment is treason.
But sometimes, when the boss is ungodly crass,
that fomented voice...is the voice of reason!

I Know Why The Caged Bird Sing
By Any Means Necessary (Happy Birthday Martin Luther King, Jr.)
I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Mama, I know why the caged bird really sings
When the mind as an offering hears sovereignty echoed from the mountains let it ring
From the cradle of birth is to give authority to our mental dreams
Our deferred aspirations we seek to the highest of our esteem
How can I learn to fly when my heart cannot even walk ...
