rules for childhood
avoid putting your toys
away
-or-
taking a bath, bedtime
and doing your homework
play as much as you can
doodle endlessly
laugh and giggle
incessantly
say no to your parents
often
pout well and ask for
forgiveness later
imagine constantly
refuse your veggies
candy is always better
live in the moment
live for today...
tomorrow is too far
away
ask for this, ask for
that
want way too much ...

Fun ways to spend a Sunday evening
Waiting it out
clammy and vomiting
fourteen and learning
how much is too much
it's painful to watch
but so much better
than bubble-wrap
or my best lecture

Marital math
After marriage we become two in one
And as it takes two to make a child
Soon love has to be divided between your other half and kids
and as they multiply
we tend to become a little calculative.
I was never as good at math as at science
So I quarter the dinner pie
and let my hubby tutor the kids on the pi
In married life you have to subtract negative numbers
to bring out the positive ones
to round it off as a near success
Even when your partner, is not a common denominator
Adaptation, love , respect plus fidelity...

Trial By Firebrand: Learning can be hard
I wasn't as much taught things
as I learned from being punished
for doing them wrong the first time I even tried.

Indigo rain
It's said no parent wants to bury their children
But which child wish to bury their parents?
In this world full of sorrow and hardships
Who would wish to to lose a shoulder to cry on?
Someone to ask guidance from?
No matter how much we age
We still vulnerable inside
We still remain children inside.
No matter how estranged
No matter how insignificant their contributions is in our lives
But no child wish not to have a mother
No child wishes not to have a father
No child wishes not to have love they can't...
But which child wish to bury their parents?
In this world full of sorrow and hardships
Who would wish to to lose a shoulder to cry on?
Someone to ask guidance from?
No matter how much we age
We still vulnerable inside
We still remain children inside.

I could kill my Mom,
for the pain she put me through
by dying, God knows...

Elders
after Philip Larkin
They tell you lies, your dad and mum,
Sometimes without intent,
But no-one cares enough to say
And so you reach your adult day
Stuffed full of their bullshit.
Like other people aren't as clean
Based on the colour of their skin,
That gays'll touch your boys
If left alone with them. Our elders,
We must understand, are fucking idiots.
The prejudices change with time,
But man's a lowly animal.
So live and build your capital,
Then move to what comes next and pray
The elders there aren't...
They tell you lies, your dad and mum,
Sometimes without intent,
But no-one cares enough to say
And so you reach your adult day
Stuffed full of their bullshit.
Like other people aren't as clean
Based on the colour of their skin,
That gays'll touch your boys

Before My Parents Come Home
Do me a
favor and get yourself
out of here before my parents come
home and catch us naked with you humping me from
behind because if they do, my dad
would really go nuts
in this room.
