The 2020 Chip Down Blues
The torture tune of trauma town
Rings in my midnight ear
To say to me when chips are down
All merriment will disappear...
When introverts, not the warrior,
Will be the ones that thrive
When city streets get gorier
As intubations survive...
More so than those who shriek and shout
In a rally or ugly crowd
With an unwitting spittle spout
Ever and anon too proud...
Since salvation comes, as you will see,
Packaged in humility.
Rings in my midnight ear

Let me tell you something
and I'm going to keep saying this
so let it sink in,
since you choose not to use that brain.
COVID-19 DOESN'T EXIST OK that 1
2. if they have to
PERSUADED, REMINDED, LIED TO,
PRESSURED, INCENTIVIZED, COERCED,
BILLIED, SOCIAL ASHAMED,
GUILT TRIPPED, THREATENED, PAID,
PUNISHED AND CRIMINALIZED
If all of this is necessary to gain your complete compliance
you can be ABSOLUTELY SURTON
that what's being promoted
is NOT IN YOUR BEST INTERESTS.

Like when folk clapped & got jabbed, both the cat, dad & son
Looking aghast with amazement, I let em pave me the way/

to feel

Can't get a grip

perspective
Anywhere I look
reflective

I find no comfort
in a song
Isolated more and
more

Silence and Rooftops
There on the rooftop, above most buildings
I found my serenity.
No weed smoke this time, I wasn't gliding.
The country was locked down
And so I sat on the edge, fearless.
Admiring the bright lights, the city's crown
Dark mountains embraced the listless town.
All alone, so high up, I felt the music
Could you hear it too?
The silence moved chords so fluid
Through my body, feeling almost lucid...
So I stood on the ledge,
Threw my hands in the air and twirled
Round and round I went,
Dancing for my silent world.
I dared...

Why worry bout what we see on t.v.
From NBC's, CBS' and, yes, the Foxes
News views putting crews into boxes
The poxes, the flus, and new pandemics
Turning a few amongst you into relics
I get it but can't it be detrimental?
Some spit that's writ shouldn't enter our temples
Its riddles are simple; we are what we eat
Divisible by? YOU choose; even the beat
Taking a seat to eat meat with some devils
Likely causes psyches to consume sum evils
Toxic levels will destroy pew minds over...
