Brain Drain

Baritones
Tangled as if a ball of twine
like strands of dark wine
with sediments of twilight
in shadows of mime
touched by the ignis fatuus
shining through the window
with egg-shaped flowers
touched by widows of past poets
rising over stones of baritones
like strands of dark wine
with sediments of twilight
in shadows of mime
touched by the ignis fatuus
shining through the window
with egg-shaped flowers
touched by widows of past poets
rising over stones of baritones

Ventures Into Another Realm
It was raining cats
Under a mewling wind
So i entered a small wood
To seek shelter
I wandered of the main path
Venturing
Through the broad, and narrow trees
Eventually reaching
A small, but dark
Dangerous pool
I glanced inwards
It proffered no reflection
And no insects skated across
It's murky surface
Soon
It began to whirl
And from it's depths
Arose a curious bright, light
A glowing globe
hovered over the pool for a while
Then moved across
And was by my side
At the blink of an eye ...

The elixir of the gods
Dreaming of legends bold
and heroic quests of old
possessing a fearless heart
and a valiant spirit
I bravely venture forth
in bleary eyed reverence
on a prophesied quest
to the altar of the Coffee Maker
and the Oracle of the Bean
seeking guidance to the holy brew
as did Jason and the Argonauts long ago
in search of the Golden Fleece
to challenge the gods
and dare the fates
fighting razor clawed demons
meowing for my soul
in slipper socks and bathrobe
I risk a perilous journey

Hermes Mercurius, the Trismegistus,
was wandering in rocky places,
desolation's perfect for some justice,
as you do not pretend before the faces.
Heat cannot affect the quietude
of the well-acquainted with the meditation,
the heart is a temple, a fiery prelude
to the entrance of Violet Flame's transmutation.
It's not a slumber. It is still.
Between the chaos of blindness' ire
but also yielding your will,
yet your physics also health require.
The buddha's consciousness expands
in mercy's...

HOW ACORN MAIDEN GOT THROUGH THE COLD NIGHT
Acorn maiden hit the sack
Felt a chill run down her back
Searched for linens soft and thick
Something here will do the trick
Nothing found could warm her though
Feet felt like they were in snow
Maybe dreams will find me heat
Tucked into her soft thin sheet
She took her cap from her head
Laid it down next to her bed
And her hair began to flow
Seeking out new places low
Over bedframe’s oaken lip
To the floor silently slipped
Poked between the beams and found
Hidden gateway to the...

Merlin's Bones
Minerva was almost home when she was violently snatched. The man got out of the car a couple of yards in front of her. ‘Excuse me, lady, I’m lost, can you help me, please?’ His smile was broad, his accent American, his pungent aftershave expensive. ‘This darned budget rental doesn’t have satellite navigation.’ He waved ruefully at the vehicle.
It was dark, and Minerva was nervous, the leafy trees stopped most of the streetlight from reaching the pavement. Weary after her long evening shift at the hospital, she just wanted a bath and her bed.
She stopped in front of the well-dressed...
