The Ghost Of Ethel Allen
She was a beautiful nineteen year old woman brutally murdered then mutilated , her body parts strewn along side of the Indian River in Brevard County, Florida in the 1930's. Her ghost is said to haunt what was then known as Ashley's Tavern in Rockledge, Florida where she reportedly visited often in life.
I vaguely remembered rumors of the now named, Ashley's Restaurant and Bar being haunted. One day, I did some research on the place and read some very intriguing stories of her antics in the restaurant. I remember being really giddy when my ex-husband and I decided to dine...

All is Vanity
10 I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;
I refused my heart no pleasure.
My heart took delight in all my labor,
and this was the reward for all my toil.
11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done
and what I had toiled to achieve,
everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;
nothing was gained under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 2
As I look over the remains of battle the words of Ecclesiastes ring in my head. The enemies I’ve killed lay scattered, and their lifeless eyes tell stories of dreams unfulfilled....

Legend of the Marfa Lights (a narrative) as told by an Apache Elder
In the time of the ancients, when the earth sang with the spirits of the wild and the wisdom of our forebears lingered in every whisper of the wind, there arose a tale born from the heart of the desert, in the realm of the Apaches.
Before the the town of Marfa existed, when the world was untamed and the land stretched out boundless, our people wandered these territories, hunters beneath the expanse of the sky. But the fever of the California Gold Rush ignited a fire in the hearts of travelers, bringing turmoil and sorrow. The allure of gold drew them westward, their wagons carving...

Something needed to be done
The board review came to a decision
They found him sane
One doctor felt otherwise
Doctor knew that he fooled the board and staff
The doctor pleaded with the medical board
They saw nothing wrong
The ex girlfriend was always afraid of him
He went psycho on her a few times
For no apparent reason
She would have liked to do normal things couples would do
Instead, she had to worry when something so small and minute would agitate him
He didn't like that she was talking to her brother
He thought her & her brother were secretly in love ...

Sniper Files #3 The Kill
As the moon hung low in the night sky, casting shadows across the deserted alley, I watched them from the rooftop opposite the dimly lit apartment building. The general's daughter, Olena, stood on the balcony, her silhouette joined by that of her lover, Andrei. They seemed lost in each other, unaware of the danger lurking in the darkness below.
I adjusted the scope on my rifle, my breath steady despite the adrenaline coursing through my veins. This was the moment I had trained for, the mission I had been assigned by my superiors. But as I stared through the crosshairs, doubt...

A fork, a knife and a spoon
My wife only wants me to spoon her when she's hammered
Any other time, she don't want me near
That's ok
I actually despise her and spooning
One night she came home incredibly drunk
She was all over the place
Stumbling, making no sense
Fell backwards into my cabinet
Breaking some heirloom figurines I had from my family
No apology, nothing
My blood was beginning to boil
I yelled at her, "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY FACE!!!"
I was tired, so I went to bed
Few moments later she came into bed
She was frisky and...

The Invited Guest
One moonlit night I was in my convertible driving through the city of Las Vegas, NV
After losing a lot of cash and getting into a fight with my wife
I went to see a silent film for mature audiences only
As I was leaving the city limits, heading back home in California
I saw a hitchhiker waving me down
He looked mousey, a little disheveled but I felt bad for him
He told me his name was Sid
I asked him where he was headed
He said, “Anywhere you’re going, I’m fine with.”
I thought that was odd
He told me that he was coming from a desert grave...

It Was Time
OK,” I said. “As you wish.”
Who could blame him after 42 years of marriage. Since Michael was paying the tab, I’d comply with his wishes as best I could. I suppose it was natural that he’d want to make love to his wife on her last night. By all indications they’d had a good marriage.
Tanya had recently made the decision to stop all treatments and so it was a matter of time. Her cancer would consume her, and he wanted to spare her from the agony he knew was in her future. He shared that she wanted to live as long as possible but knew her inevitable death...
