knowing oneself
bloke in the pub was obviously looking for an argument
could be made for refusing to talk to himself, he couldn’t see it

Stay positive
It’s hard to stay positive, When it seems that you’re only alive to see your downfall.
To feel as if this heart that has been abused and broken so so many times,
to a point finally ending it all seem like your only way out,
Feels better then feeling as if you’re not meant for love or to be loved.
To suffer from this weight you put on yourself to not feel like the disappointment in your family.
To feel as if you should be the provider and give your all to those that could care less about how you are deep down.
To feel as if your life is spiraling...

the last thing I’d eat
blokes ask themselves things
like this all the time in the pub: if you knew you were dying,
what’d be the last thing you’d eat
would be tomatoes ..

island
the "universe"(you-in-verse) is a lonely place.... one's just a verse amongst long assembly lines.... forming paragraphs for a poem to write....
though set aside.... an island is where one resides.... most if not all of the time....
what is "life?" billions of beings would mutually stand as to, or differently define;
this isn't a place that i personally overall like.... always preferring to stay inside....

A Little Breath Of Scandal
A little breath of scandal,
And a pair of eager ears.
Suddenly a public tale is told,
That only fades after many years.
The breaking of a doomed soul,
With old friends passing by.
A little breath fanned by the breeze,
I wonder wonder why.
A little act of kindness,
Where are those eager ears.
Where is that breeze to circulate,
It might live through the years.
For little deeds mean nothing,
Only nasty rumours fly.
It seems all wrong, but is it so,
I wonder wonder why...

the Mist
Twists in the swirls
simple in the mist
stretching my fist
to the floating abyss~
Extending the breath
let it pass, exhale
exploring the florals
with my fingertips
Slip in the water
let it drip with the mist
sweat on the limbs
of the trees where the
flowing matter drips
sticking to the forest
when the second sun dips
creature of the wind
seeking solace in the mist
creature of the spirit
seeking bliss in the mist
Pass through the shadows

Pill Box Tales
I've been on drugs since I was 9
When I tasted the world raw
I was only 18... And it was too much
The world was too bright, too loud
So many new emotions and sensitivity
The world is all kinds of too much
There was a stretch of time there
Where I tasted the world unfiltered
And I spiraled so hard and so fast
The pins holding me up were pulled away
And those pins are put back into place
There's a pill for everything don't you know
And the world is back to being filtered
Not edited but the lighting is different
I wonder where...

Upside down
it's how I see
like the bat
swimming in an aquarium
no radar
with the eyes closed
it's how I see
like the octopus
spinning its tentacles
hyperbolic helicopter
through a periscope
it's how I see
the blowfly
submerged in desires
with the head buried
it's how I see
the hummingbirds
the saviors
the redeemers
upside down
it's how I see
what do standing
other gentlemen see...

What you were made of
We were too busy so we got a maid to handle things we couldn’t
Distant in love & close in affection I saw the maid
Temptation grew & I no longer saw Just a maid
You Trained your replacement for a position that was taken
I got comfortable when I thought I had it made
You made the home a place I never wanted to leave
We made promises only one side tried to keep
The bed was made & we laid in it
(You made it..I maid it)

Placid Strangers
He’s sleeping on a bench
Waiting for the end
Blocking out the distant noises
He ran out of choices
Now he’s getting lost in their voices
Giving into the poison
He’s wasting his life
Sitting in the morning light
He doesn’t care
But I think he’s a lie
Lost all his dreams
He’s the scenery that breathes
Trying to get back to who he used to be
He blends in with the trees
People come and people leave
No one knows anything
He doesn’t have anywhere to go
Left his paper...
Waiting for the end
Blocking out the distant noises
He ran out of choices
Now he’s getting lost in their voices
Giving into the poison
He’s wasting his life
Sitting in the morning light
He doesn’t care
But I think he’s a lie
Lost all his dreams

the cold winter of 1949
the cold winter of 1949
The frost hung mercilessly over our town
the woman who had had her nose frozen off
in the winter of 1933, said this time it was worse.
It was bad, cats jumping from one rubbish bin
to another froze to death, in mid-air hanging
like ghastly holograms.
A man on the steps, his wife wouldn’t him in
froze to death while singing Lily Marlene.
His words hung above his head like frozen
jumbled fog, white as a seraph’s giggle.
A gas blast had occurred, the flame
hang in mid-air like yellow icicles waiting ...
