The Men Who Aren't Men To Say What They Are
some men are
others don't
some men like
others don't
some men live
others don't
some men sleep
others don't
some men say
others don't.
some men say
that they love other men
others don't
some men sleep
with other men
but they say no
some men love
other men
but pretend not to
some men are
Men
others don't.
some men are
men to accept what they are
other men
simply don't.

Soft Handed Man
Firm handed greeting met with distain
I’ve shook hands with the elders, but they couldn’t feel pain
When touching my hands they felt no skill or experience
No struggle, no plan only soft inexperience
This had me shook and conflicted
That their perception was so restricted
Had me questioning…
Can you be a man’s man even with soft hands?
My labor is different if you don’t understand
Those before me who worked the plants and mills
That attained trade skills to pay their bills
Blood and sweat from their hands moisturized the earth ...

The Approach
The boy stood looking upon the waves in the sea standing nearby the sand at the beach
When a man stood next to him and asked him what he was doing
He looked at the man and then told him he was thinking of taking a swim
Without noticing or suspecting anything untoward the boy accepted this man's invitation
Which turned out to be an act of subterfuge hiding his true motivations
This man took the boy to his hotel room or rented apartment
They spoke for a while after he had offered him some orange juice
Sooner rather than later they were both in a bathtub...

To guys who don’t read girls
I guess I’d question why
you even read at all,
if not to know people and life
much deeper than you know it now,
and feel the flavour of the fate
that’s also feminine.
It is, I suppose, an opposing pose.
Do you even read men?
Or just gaze glassily at Faulkner
and think about 10-dollar words?
(But only in a Starbucks, of course.)
And if what know about girls is just
whatever you’ve gleaned from de Sade,
and even that dead libertine reflected on
by dust in sunlight more than eyes,
I have to ask:...

Today's Countenance
If the television set is to be believed then representatives of the fair sex are now expected to air brush away all traces of perceived wretchedness from their very own visages while the troglodytic male members of our species may lounge about with no care whatsoever regarding their manly facial flaws or beard bound meal chunks. I'm sure all that is fair somehow...but I don't see it.
True love, as hot as a panful of Neruda verse, never requires such artificial bracings and cupid's dart will not always wait for my lady's face.
Things are now dangerously informal...

dog
my father used to joke
that if you lock your wife and a dog
together in the downstairs cupboard
and only let them out after several hours
only the dog will be pleased to see you
and it occurs to me that a lot of his jokes
were about how ugly stupid fat
skinny slutty prudish stuck-up worse
the opposite sex supposedly were
like when he was told that
my stepmother’s friend had been held
at knifepoint and raped
and so she was shy around men
so he looked at her approaching down
the street and said that she’s ...

Crusaders
They beat their bosoms loud and long
In their medieval comfort zone
Where hidebound folks think we belong
Back in an age of brass and stone
Where only they may call the shots,
And wise policies are banned,
For fear they may be commie plots
That undermine their fatherland
Where no one dares to get a tat
For fear of vexing dainty eyes
Forever scanning this or that
For still more people to despise,
And surely justified by faith
Which will not always introspect
To chase away paranoia's wraith
Before their peace of mind...

The Amorist
Men, think tonight...as you are getting laid,
"Are there any riches better than this?"
Better than anything else you are paid
Which will not support your next wooing kiss?
Well obviously the answer is no.
So why do some men value more their truck
Or polish hogs to be the best in show
Rather than making effort for a fuck
Which they'll remember to their dying day
As the finest of all possible luck?
Why not prioritize a different way
To see her more by Cupid's arrow struck
After launching from all your deepest wishes?
Cupid...

Hey Dudes,
Please don the mask of sanity
And leave it in its proper place
Where it covers the inanity
Of your ugly hominid face.
Place it before your angry brain
Lurking behind those dopey eyes
Where it prevents the character stain
Your baser antics won't disguise.
Oh you can call it one great lie,
That common courtesy of old,
But it's a finer thing to try
Than your sub cortical scold...
Ever the clumsy cliché cuss
As graceless as a blunderbuss
Or any shameless primal act
Demonstrating your lack of tact.

I remember Laika
I remember Laika
The warm sun and wind keep winter at bay
but it is time to say goodbye to Laika, the dog
the new face of the moon.
The farewell can’t be delayed a boy has run to
the outer field sits on a stone tries not to cry
the struggle to accept the unavoidable.
Dark cloud from the North where nature is solemn
there is no hint of gaieties in their towns’
architecture
Winter hearts will dispose and scatter misery
protestants do not allow for lofty dreams.
The wind is cold, new rules people must work harder
