Fireflies
The golden moon
Sits in the night sky
Full, and glowing
Ever knowing
As she watches on
Sister Earth below
Echoes of her glow
Scampering
Across clear waters
Creating shimmering golden pathways
That stretch
Over the moonlit horizon
To a land
Of far away dreams
Where-in dwell
Ethereal beings
That hover with gilded wings
And golden hearts
Within the mysterious moonlight
like firey fireflies

Within a Glance
I went somewhere and you were there
alone within the same nightmare
intwined we swirled throughout the night
making the darkest love we dare
And without sight to our delight
we kissed the sun and stole her light
in bended synchronicity
star crossed lovers in lonely plight
But this despair that we both share
while dancing in the space out there
cuts to the quick this devil's bite
until we lose the will to care
So if by chance or happenstance
we break away from circumstance
then I will fly and thus be seen...

Mouseman
I went searching for magic today
I packed my bags
And went wandering
Into the dark lonely woods
I hesitated a little
Before entering the leafy other world within
I tried to follow a path
But had to venture into dense underfrowth
And heavy bracken
It took me a while to realise
That it wasn't the heavy foilage that was the problem
It was me!
The moment i entered this wood
A protective spell surrounding this wood
Turned me into a mouse!
I no longer search for magic anymore
As i'm to busy avoiding owls, and witches...

The Essential Will Carrie
In this place so caught and cursed by the onset of decline,
In a country marked by loss across her cravings of desire,
Where every ragged step falters lonely on the ledge,
And words from blistered lips recant the wistfulness of fate.
The scars are daily present where the power left the land,
And the lights will only flicker at the shadow of your hand,
Now when winter spreads its rumour there’s no hiding from its claim,
Nor the stifling accusations unconditioned summer brings.
To a fragment of this country where more roamers scratch a...

A Banquet
I find it hard to believe
That it's now July already
My head
Lies still in March
Away with the wild hares
They
Eyeing the black mascara clouds
As a sliver of moonlight
Glides through
Into a dingly dell den
The Hares
Eyes now gently rolling
Over the shadowed meadow
Slowly disperse into an ethereal wind
Their ears
Floating like sails
The fox arrives
Knowing
That he would always be to late
For this strange feast
No jug of hare
He would return to his earth
With a rabbit
To den dine ...

Book review: A Marvellous Light, by Freya Marske
Okay, so I don't normally do book reviews, actually I don't do them at all. I just sometimes think about what I would say if someone asked about what I'm reading. No one ever asks.
This book almost demands a review, or something. I have read it three times in the last four days, which I never do.
With most books I enjoy, I read it, savour it, analyze it, and then stick it on a shelf for the next time I'm in the mood for it. I think I can name ever book I have read and reread, and held onto for the precious story it is. This is one of those books, only moreso.

A to Z
I was on a route to A to B and got stopped by a X at road works. I felt perplexed as I had learnt my alphabet in earnest when I was small. On the way to school reciting the letters in sequence with my hand held firmly in my mother’s feeling safe and with a bit of pride. I think I am a budding genius like Roald Dahl’s is with wordplay. But nothing is as clear or uncomplicated as then or as orderly or simple.
Nobody tells you real life is not like the alphabet a structure or a formula that we all know and abide by. It’s a bit messy and contradictory it’s only when you are on your...

..forethought reveals
the obelisk at the center
of the universe, caught in the primordial
future.
is time real to those for whom past, present, and
annihilation are
but different directions in which to look?
the moon dies, crescent-wise
and the wanderer is trapped in cosmic horrors of Red.
of blood and billion year old rock.
she wears a cloak of mountain peaks and fears
the soundless winds of time that erode.
but she must bear witness to those that see...

swan song for a sabertooth
9/2/23.
.
Who among us can recall
with any level of clarity what it was to be
unformed energy prior to coalescing sentience?
A thermodynamic accident -
We are but borrowed energy, borrowed time
settled into such a fragile form. Spiraling
around each other in
Inestimable and infinite orbits -
What an abundance of gratitude within -
to be such a present, meager whisper
barely able to perceive the self-same cosmos in secret wavelengths.
Even so,
before I return in silence to the churning ...

Abortion
Morning broke
pink rain and colors
Born was the day
incomprehensively
how stupid thinking
it had power
when it is just a mirror
of human activity
The morning hoped
to stay till the evening
and silently drift away
the fog of night
a rescuer
of days aborted into hate
and ignorance
as easy as to kill
the unborn

Magical Moonlight
Beautiful moon tonight
Perhaps it was wearing socks
Speaking a magic of long gone days
No screeching of the fox
One day, when full
Maidens' growth, wisdom knowledge
Fill her wising eyes
A honeyed moon collage
The mind drifts off, as off it drifts
When the moon is not looking
Like a cuckolding hen
Pirouetting
The moon became quite quiet, and sullen
Drunken pixies running amok
Silhouetted with the gathering fairy folk
Life seems like an illusion

A Fairies Festival ( An ABC Poem)
A rare fairy song
Brings forth the dragonflies dance,
Captivating the pixies hearts
Dissipating their impish frowns.
Elves sitting in the forest court with
Flowers smiling at their feet,
Gnomes playing their instruments where
Hobbits break bread and tell tales of old.
Insights from the seers tell of future's bold
Jasmine wine for the elders, deep in thought.
Kings would weep at the sight of a festival where
Lotus flowers decorate the table of feast
Maple trees shade the sun from the east.
North of the vale, natures children ...
