the price of water
The price of water
Driving down from Eyrie- I said that
to sound educated, I never had much schooling
and often feel inferior when asking for the price
of a packet of margarine
I was thinking of God's existence; is he a man
or a woman, perhaps an unfortunate person
who wears a suit to work but would rather
wear a smart lady outfit.
I wondered if he was in charge of the rainbow
if so, I would like a brighter color; the rainbow
looked pale as a sullen milkmaid at six in the morning
tell him to let the rainbow show where it...

Wordless Comfort
Your unspoken “good morning”
Wrapped long strong arms around my pain
Kissed loneliness away
Your secret presence soothed
It warmed my heart this drizzly day
I love you, too,
My Sunshine & my Smile
Thank-you for staying awhile.
Always,
☺️

Remember To Mind Your Reason
In the darkest of times
be the light of a candle
but the harshest of crimes
to let melt your candle
***
Give, unmindful of a reason
feel the heavy burden light
remember to mind your reason
fill your very soul with Light
***
Like a delicate dove
bathe into sweet waters well
feed on the seeds of Love
reach not the bottom of its well.

shore leave (edited)
A boy and shore leave
The 15 years old boy was standing on the poop deck of an old tank ship
late at night, looking up at the millions of stars over
The Red Sea.
His job was to clean pots and pans in the galley ruled over by a cook
who hated the world and everybody in it.
The boy had tried to sit in the mess hall where older seamen
sat, drinking coffee and playing cards, but they had made fun of him
saying he looked like a girl the way he folded his arms.
His left nibble was swollen when he pressed on the nipple, white ...

blue sky and a cold day
Cold Day and "Bluesky Social"
This morning, pale sunlight entered
didn't stay left behind on a cold day in a blank
a bedroom that has never seen sexual activity
or a hidden erection under the duvet
in a bed solely made to sleep in
This was the first winter day, cold and lacked
a promise of a tomorrow with cold hands
wooly socks and dressed in old pajamas
Last night, he had become a member of
a newish site that aspired to be posh
for people with odd work titles like assistant
manager or some other job descriptions ...

Getting old
As you grow older,
You will understand that
Closing yourself
In your armor
Of pride and distrust,
Renouncing
All of humanity
Will do nothing but feed
Resentment,
Anger,
Rancor,
Sadness.
From hatred
Comes more hatred,
And hatred burns
Everything
It encounters.
Open yourself to others,
Quench your thirst with their empathy
Like a desperate person
Lost in the desert
Who has just stumbled
Upon an oasis.
You will understand that
Closing yourself
In your armor
Of pride and distrust,
Renouncing
All of humanity
Will do nothing but feed

If Only
I want to write a poem,some prose,
some words
that enter your heart
which is really your mind.
I want you to read those words
and weep with me for our collective suffering.
to smell the cordite in Gaza
and witness the broken homes and bodies in the Ukraine
To taste the suffering of those huddled in some dreary, cold alcove in your own country.
I want you to read my words and know our shared human experience.
Their suffering is not just theirs
It's yours,it's mine,it's our planets.
I'd love to write words so ...

Soulful Embrace
In the depths of your being, love emerges,
Healing wounds, offering comfort.
A refuge for a heart that longs for connection,
A serene space for a wandering soul.
This love is unique, profound and rare,
More than just a fleeting touch or a midnight encounter.
It binds us with ties that withstand the test of time,
A connection that transcends understanding.
At times, we search for reason,
Trying to grasp this powerful bond that captivates us.
But it eludes definition, defying our attempts to comprehend,
Yet in each other's presence,...

A Friendly Euphoria
I dream about this world in my mind where you all love me and I love you as well.
We don’t judge, we don’t discriminate. We just live and we love all the same.
A beautiful place. No monsters, exorcised all demons. Stood in our place.
We love, don’t begrudge. We just live. We just live. And love all the same.

The Unspoken Poetry
Sometimes,
in an exchanged glance,
A truth lies hidden
that we dare not enhance.
A smile that speaks volumes
of what we feel,
Yet words fail
to fully reveal.
For language,
however powerful it may be,
Struggles to translate
the heart's poetry.
Trapped within the confines
of our thoughts,
The words remain,
their freedom thwarted.
But in these fleeting moments,
these brief exchanges,
A window opens
to what the soul rearranges.
A gaze, a smile,
a spark in the eyes,
Unveils what...
