Between home
It is the third,
and every day I have heard the call of June,
because I said I would try,
said I'd dive in an onion
left growing in the darkness of my blue.
It is Monday,
and I remember Mondays,
climbing on the kitchen counter hunting food
because food didn't come
the way it did for other kids.
Remember
wanting to plunge forks in their eyes,
for all they had and all I held
in their in betweens of education.
Would get myself thrown
from class for the sake

RED LEAF DANCE IN A WHIRLWIND (11-28-1995; somewhere on a long, out of state road trip adventure with a good friend.)
red leaf dance
spinning away in a whirlwind
just up ahead
on this dead end road
suddenly shifts me into
some momentary
timeless state
of introspectively reflective
abstract daydream mind
upon my eye s sight
falling upon
this surreally unexpected
stop sign staring back in
at my stalled out mind
as slow death so quietly
so gracefully arabesques
between these sudden
subtle symbolic signs
of perhaps my own uncertain
subconsciously unforeseen
potential future victory
or only the smoldering...

I. Appeal
Said the poet in his desperate hour:
A supplication to the gods who feast
upon the pain-varietals of man;
An entertaining tease to pass the time
as ages wilt and rot eternally.
I sing a song that you may slake the thirst,
or rather, give you cause to let it slip
your mind, a willed omission. In return,
confer upon you something to be told
when you, your greatest cravings cannot sate.
Thus is what I offer greater still
than any fleeting bliss you may derive
from all my fleeting mortal agony.
Though well you know the...

I’m not sure what I was thinking
as she stung my nose with alcohol
placed on that blue clamp
found my perfect sweet spot
though I was just relieved to know
part of me had one amongst
my external prickle
my girl laid her palm on my hand
as a needle went through
I sat amazed that five years
of questioning this piercing
was reduced to no tears
no flinching
just a quick pinch and it was done
while I glanced in a mirror
to the gnarly sight of a canula...

A Day in the Life
Depot of Haloperidol today
and chitchat session with a Mental Nurse.
I promise you I would not wish this curse
on any living person, come what may.
Some music, snooze, a snack, some small delay,
self-medicate on five percent or worse,
with that let’s try and cut the story terse;
I want the mind to function, not decay.
Haste, here come memories of all my sins!
Can I make recompense before begins
The Lord to count, The Devil slyly claim,
the latter stating me not him to blame?
Would any good, the bad intent outweigh?

Time to increase the dosage.
I'm out with the gout
all in my knee.
So woe is me,
without a doubt,
with my old right hip grousing about
in anatomic solidarity.
But I've some tricksy pills, ya see,
with an anti inflammation clout,
plus, a night of sleep will surely be
the route that puts the pain to rout.
Pleasant dreams 💞

People are a disease
People shuffling past me like corpses to stupid to die
Their clothes hold their guts in
Fear holds in the rest
Running like rats
Scurrying through waste paper and filth to their holes before the sun goes down
They have umbilical cords of sewage wrapped around their throats
Choking on life, nursing their wounds
They'll tell you that they're loving every minute of it
Just like prisoners come to love their captors
Just like roaches in a roach motel
Tasting the poison, telling you it's wine
Their clothes hold their guts in
Fear holds in the rest
Running like rats
Scurrying through waste paper and filth to their holes before the sun goes down

Syphilis
I had the tiniest touch of syphilis
And my god, I don’t know how so
She crept up my legs
And crawled right in
Either that, or I caught her on the train
At first, I thought we could be lovers
At second, potentially friends
Then it suddenly dawned on me
She simply just had to leave
And that was the end of that affair
And my god, I don’t know how so
She crept up my legs
And crawled right in
Either that, or I caught her on the train
At first, I thought we could be lovers
At second, potentially friends
Then it suddenly dawned on me
She simply just had to leave
And that was the end of that affair

blood and nothingness
My uterus is on its way out
I bleed too heavy
throw up from the pain
can't stand up straight
without painkillers
that barely numb
the all encompassing agony
that some months
makes me want to commit
self-surgery
just so I don't have to feel this way
We've been trying
for a baby for a few months now
and every month the blood comes
to say no, you didn't get
what you wanted this time
I've carried two children
beautiful accidents
and one miscarriage
that left me more broken ...
