Ron (The Hero)
Ron Nessman is not
Les Nessman (or less than human)
Sittin on a bench waiting for sis
To get the car sparkly and shiny
Just put down his best impression
Trying to get a job at Applebees
Not really paying attention
Sittin and waiting for her
See out of the corner of his eye a
Stroller strolling to the boulevard
There’s no phone booth
What are they anyway
His costume says save the child
Spring into saving the lad
By the curb grab the handle ...

Portuguese man-o-war
Who are we, lost in the vastness?
Sailing on seas without a compass.
From the first moment, the first breath.
In a labyrinth of doubts and shadows.
Wandering souls in search of meaning.
We cling to the intangible.
Desperate for answers,
in an indifferent and silent world.
Days drag on and nights collapse
in a relentless cycle of uncertainty.
We scream into the void, crying out for direction
but the echo is all that returns to us.
Heavy hearts and exhausted minds.
We walk among the ruins of...

Thee Underclass
It was thee 18th century, and I was just a mere vagabondus.
I couldn't hold down a job, I think one week was my longest!
With a peaky blinders cap and my waistcoat on tight,
I would wander thee streets at night, drunk, and get into fights.
It was thee old days of Landan, full of buskers and harlots.
Staggering past thee beggers, on thee way to thee market.
I met a Dorris called Charlotte, going past on her horse and cart,
She offered me a lift and asked where I'd like to depart?!
She was talking all jargon about nobility,...

Toxie Will Help
Cleaning the gym, the easiest target
everyone's torments he must bear
Thrown into a barrel of nuclear waste
instant mutation his life changed forever
Skin turns dark head grows large
putrid complexion exterior decay
Rejected by loved ones forced to exile
roaming alone feeling confused
Bringer of justice, killing the villains
If you need help he will assist
A true vigilante saving the world
A brush for a weapon, a blind girl is his love
Living in the junkyard, a social outcast
Planning his vengeance towards them...

October Poems 2024 >> curtain call
A poem for each day of the month in which I was born
DAY 21
curtain call
are you your own damn hero?
blow your horn!
his magnitude is zero,
whose the scorn
of lesser earthbound creatures,
who from toil
erect life’s grandest features
from mere soil.
is wealth your gloomy terror?
nuisance!
it is a fiscal error
to advance
your borrowed, transient substance
in the face
of bigotted reluctance
to embrace
naught of the vacant posture
of the lean. ...

the sad vicar
the sad vicar
The vicar walks in front of the funeral procession
appears a bit wobbly, perhaps due to elderliness
eyes are watery, and the smell of lotion is too strong
He lost faith years ago praying in churches, asking
to be released from his throbbing masculinity
which left him affairs with female parishioners
past their first youth, but with adult feelings about
sexuality hidden in a black dress of widows
God had left him, he blamed himself especially now
that he was no longer young his discreet advances
were no longer...

An Endless Oblivion With You
excite me
ignite me
lets get hectic
lost in
everything
soak the sheets
with the friction
of our skin
this oblivion
will be
endless
a loss of control
that was always
dreamed of
reality
is more
breathless
heart pounding
beautiful
ignite me

STAY WITH US
Lone pariah of the heart in knots
Into darkness, slipping
Faced with dismissal, dismal thoughts
For acceptance, gripping
Beyond the shadows in your soul
There is so much more to extol
Crumble apart, there is no rush
I'll be there to pick the pieces up
So you've held out through the storm for answers
And you're tired of all of life's meanders
Then would you reach out before you bleed out?
Don't you face the world with pained expression
Don't you lose your goal on first impression
Or would you bleed out...
Into darkness, slipping
Faced with dismissal, dismal thoughts
For acceptance, gripping
Beyond the shadows in your soul

Christmas.
We used to dance.
With each other.
When there was noone there.
Singing nothings to each other.
In whispered jokes.
And, know me nots.
You told me it.
Didnt matter.
How I looked.
Just had to.
Move to the beat.
Comes up sometimes when.
I'm lonely.
Mom.
Like some old Motown Song.
Dull hum on a record player.
The tube television.
Static and syndication
And I don't wanna know.
If it was a dream.
Or not.
Cause, I"m still there I hope.
Dancing til I'm...

The Typewriter
When a boy, the world appears near
climbing over fences, no need to open a gate
Across our house, a grey building, a school
for those who wanted to be welders or
architects or some other trade.
The caretaker had many keys, we thought
he was the boss, wore a yellow coat
and walked with dignity
He shouted at us kids to show who
tough he was, but most of the time
he let us play in the schoolyard
in a ditch, a trapped cat. we lowered
a bucket down for the moggy to jump into
but it was not willing, the...

The Moscovitch Automobile
In the fifties, few people in Norway had cars
then, after a deal with the then, Soviet Union
we received thousands of small cheap cars
from Russia, which enabled, so was the idea
that the workers also could afford a car.
I had an uncle who worked for a brewer
bought one, but it was ugly, draughty, and basic
all cars imported had the same color gray
One can say it was Russia that brought
a cheap, mass-produced car to Norway
and not Germany.
