THE BRAVE LITTLE SHEPHERD
As the hungry wolf crept toward the sheep’s pen,
It was stopped in its tracks by a dog whistle.
A boy with a long red tie had entered,
Waving at it. “My what small hands you have,”
The wolf snarled, and the shepherd understood
(For shepherds must know the ways of the wolf).
“Sheep taste lovely, it’s true,” nodded the boy,
“But if you attack, I’ll sound the alarm,
And there will be a hunt for you, my friend.”
The wolf listened. “However,” the boy said,
“I can show you the path to a buffet
Of helpless meals- which you may eat at will, ...

Pride
A hunter prides his trophy kill,
While mother nature mourns a loss.
He selfishly fulfills his thrill,
At another creature’s cost.
How very tough, you are,
Killing in the name of fun!
A lion never stood a chance
Against a semi-automatic gun.
And then you have the gall
To mount its head upon your wall,
To glorify your ignorance—
I'm horrified and appalled.
You’ll make your lion rugs,
While you rape the lion cubs
Of a home they’ll never have,
And a mother’s lion love.
Celebrating...

Corona Checks
Is it morally correct to pursue a check while Corona infects the world
Charging thousands of dollars for hand sanitizer as germs are unfurled
If we burrowed beneath the psyche of those doing this
I'd bet we'd get sets of fundamental capitalist
They can't resist the mind set of profit at all costs
Total neglect of the poor & sick whose lives are being lost
Money's boss & greed's the cause of an apathetic country
We'll never forget this pandemic as it goes down in history

How dare you put me on the front lines
Give me a gun with no ammo to lay out the fines
You preach your law to me
Your decree to do no harm
Your policy even points to the corrupt that constantly swarms
If I go down know the rest will go down too, you know
As well as all the soldiers standing with me pulling everyone at tow
Yeah I know
We're just nurses
Just fuckin pions in your scheme
Every time one of us downs you find another one to bleed
You'd think resources would be available at the front
But it seems the dollar wins...

Are these twins to blame?
Their movements freeze the frame.
Formatting the worse.
Feeding, milking a curse,
All in the avarice of news,
Be it here. We lose.

One for sorrow (The thief of enjoyment)
He'd left the house nasty,
entered the club hooded,
not listening to the music,
only watching pockets
aware of door-men and boots,
drugs and fire escapes.
As the crowd fed on music,
he flew snatching trances
from around the necks of wet chests.
A calculating magpie collecting gold chains,
disappearing in a flap of black and white.
A Stanley knife talon
ready to give out another smile
every time his wings got clipped.
When the police finally caged him,
he was rolling back carpets
in his mothers...
entered the club hooded,
