as much as it hurts
need you to know
I say fuck you! now
you weren’t there when I needed
thought we were close
you pretend like I’m not hurting
I’m just such a let down I suppose
sorry for the inconvenience
figured we were good friends
confiding in you was a mistake
so it goes
I’m alone
gonna be ok though
and I’ll do it on my own
for you can come back around
tell me how good I sound
then I will say with a huge smile

To my best friend
Why are you standing in a room with me?
Why are you standing in a room with me and still I‘m feeling alone
You’d rather be far away, staring down in your phone
I hope you know that I’m slowly losing hope
The same jokes that you used to laugh at are now boring and old
I look at you, you look away what the hell is wrong
I want to help you but you won’t let me through
I‘m feeling trapped in my mind cause your space is empty

Want To Spend Some Time With Me In The Pool?
Jennifer was sitting in the pool to
do the cool off gig while Jeff puts film
into his camera and does the snap a pic
trick because Sports Illustrated wants her.
That was before Jennifer saw her best friend
bend over to get a better look and asked "Want to
spend some time with me in the pool?" was a smile.
Kyle came over and said "Sorry. Not today. Let's go, Kat!"

I‘m alone
In my room
Staring lonely down my phone
I want
To be with you
With all the people I know
My soul
Is crying out
Yet I ignore the sound
My owl of wisdom
It’s gone
I’m vulnerable to the tone
Of empty promises
That eventually will crush my hope
I hope
The wind will blow away
This deep dark cloud
I can’t move
I can’t cry
I can’t walk
Into the light that will safe my soul
I’m alone

Big Daddy's
In the heart of New Orleans,
On Bourbon Street so bright,
Stood a bar named Big Daddy's,
A beacon in the night.
But now she's gone, her spirit lives,
Within the city's soul,
And in my dreams, I see her still,
Her strength and beauty whole.
For Big Daddy's was more than just,
A place to drink and dance,
She was a sanctuary,
For women to take a chance.
To be themselves, to find their voice,
To stand up and be heard,
And though the bar may be no more,
Her legacy lives on.
For in the dreams that I create,

To Meet My Blind Date
As soon as I walked into
Morton's The Steakhouse to
meet my blind date, my
eyes
grew
wide
at the sight of an
old high school chum looking
at me in such a hot dress.
We said that we were happy
to see each other while
we let ourselves chow
down
on
some
wild mushrooms before
I saw the look of pure
sadness on that face of hers.
When we got to the filet
mignon with sour cream mashed
potatoes, she told

you knew about every detail
laid myself in your hands
like it was my undoubted fait
in the end, it hurt me so much
