The sloth and the billy-goat
The sloth and the billy-goat took to the sky
in ninety-nine red balloons
They took some toffee and plenty of coffee
and floated off t'wards the moon
They stopped in the land where the music grows
and they each picked a singing flower
Sloth grabbed an electric mandolin
and shredded some chords of power
Goat was delighted, she skipped and she hopped
through a mosh-pit of imagination
She waved at the theremin, making cool sounds
of woo-woo reverberation
They played and they sang and they goofed off all...

The Safe List
Haltingly, fearfully,
she takes her time
watching and waiting
on the periphery.
Some think she's confident;
others think she's aloof,
but she's wondering how to behave.
It's not that she can't read the room
she reads it all too clearly—
too many competing thoughts
and needs
paralyse her ability to act.
And so, it is easier to remain
on the edges.
Unexpectedly,
like a flaming arrow
to her fragile armour,
your voice reaches her.
Genuine interest,
listening ears,
shared empathy ...
she takes her time

A man of few but very
well chosen words, he never
fails to bring it BIG.
If he’s not throwing down
tough New Yorker attitude,
he’s entrancing us with
phenomenal works of art.

a wave of cold in a hot summer
When I go to sleep
at night and the
window of my room
is open, a little moonlight
falls on my sheet, and
you are the coolness

“TOTO I’m tired, I’m sleepy and my feet hurt” I told my handler
“That’s on you” he said “you’ve been up for over a day and a half
You can have a couple of hours of rest here because in the morning

we forgot the warmth of sunny days, saturating sapphire skies
it melts the frost off my skin
and dusts my psyche
so, i wait for bloom
just as the desert did this march
no, i cannot rush the season
forced germination yields nothing, does it?
my pale, frail flower
she cries for help
pink has abandoned her cheeks
we hug in cobwebbed rooms, and i whisper:
“revival is on the horizon”
and it will eclipse the depressive gloom.
