After
Intense fire
fuels the spirit
begging of you
do not fear it
Rejuvenated
burning bright
in the darkness
affording light
Urging passion
feeding the soul
elixir of life
sensation whole
This wild heart
untamed and free
without caution
loving deeply
Not conditioned
to conform
meant to dance
amid the storm
fuels the spirit
begging of you
do not fear it

Urging passion
feeding the soul
elixir of life
sensation whole
This wild heart
untamed and free

Scrap Paper
I have thought a great deal
about the freedom of
writing,
drawing
doodling
on cheap newsprint.
A disposable medium.
For practice.
The safety,
the permission
it gives to experiment.
Without fear of failure,
criticism
exposing too much of yourself.
Thoughts made permanent
in
a precious notebook.
Available to judgmental eyes,
even if they are just your own.

The Stallion
turning to the openness of the desert my soul flies free
there is deep magic here a colt on his first run
racing the wind it is caught up in the wonderment of the moment
an Arabian stallion praising the sun and worshipping the earth below
running in concert with her voice
a sentient being in love with his world
he understands the shifting winds
leading him onward
the summer rains lead to an oasis
he can smell the delicate outpouring from heaven
happiness is freedom from being part of the herd
lawless and chasing his...

Skin Talk
In America my skin is my rope, every melinated fiber of it , society stretches it around my throat. My enemies wear hatred like a coat.
My people became a American nightmare floating on a boat. Slavery was only emancipated, in the deceptions written in their quotes.
Burning crosses lighting the images of evil laughing ghost. Moses shouting let my people go, pharaoh said murder, every first born son, so their population would not grow.
My people shouting let freedom ring. And in trees in the summer breeze.Tearful ebony eyes watched freedom swing.

America Is Weeping
America...
A nation once united is now divided
With a presidential election still undecided
Claims that it was rigged are reigning high
The coronavirus cases are still climbing
To a hefty million of them nation wide
It's plain to see America is weeping and
Longing for some peace and stability
Or perhaps just the return to normalcy
Remembering all the while we're still free
No masks for some nor social distancing
Could they be the simple
cause of the spread of the disease
With 245k deaths...

BLACK FANGS (translated for an easier horizontal read)
Bloodthirsty barren broken bats brutally believe
Leftover lucifer ladened lackluster lives leave
As angels angrily abandon anxiety
Cannibalistic cynicism compliancy
Knowing knowledgeable knives kill
Fatalistic fantasy finally filled
As avid assassins appear abnormal
Nourished nativism narcissism normal
Grasping grinding gasping grievances get gnashed
Society successfully silenced six senses slashed

If
If,
What a word
Full of connotations
It's subjective
It's open
Or it's closed
The beginnings
Or the final
Curtain call
If
I wonder how
many times this
has rolled
off tongues
In the middle of
Dilemma
and change
If
It's mighty
Even standing
As 2 letters
Wide
It's depth
Is undeniably
Endless
It precedes
and
Succeeds

I'm Not A Little Girl Anymore, Dad!
You're always telling
me what to do, Dad!
But no more because
I allowed myself to
pose topless in front
of this photographer
no matter what type
of garbage you keep
on force feeding me!
me what to do, Dad!
But no more because
I allowed myself to
pose topless in front
of this photographer
no matter what type
of garbage you keep
on force feeding me!
