Maybe Tomorrow
Fingers point towards incompetence
When someone has to tow the line
Without logic it doesn’t make sense
These parasites can’t grow a spine
Addicts gamble on sex and drugs
Whatever gets them through the night
Skin is crawling with corporate bugs
Keeping the real issues out of sight
Deathbed confessions eliminate lies
So everyone can connect the dots
Spider needs to catch a lot of flies
Weaving webs that tangle us in knots
Maybe tomorrow we wake up for real
With enough time left to finally heal

entertaining my fathomless wholly beguiling imagination
I just got back from picking the best stars in the cosmos
I got a ring from Saturn will she take it back
if I disappoint needless point, really
you can't buy love not mine anyway
selfish me asking the stars to leave
their beautiful heaven all colors aglow
it's been some time, grieving
it will take you away to other places
the gravity of the situation has me on shakey feet

It’s the innocence about the times that I miss most
The way they used to look up
The little voices pulling at the heart
When I used to drive by that church on Washington
There was a moon at the top of the steeple
His little voice would cry out “the moon daddy, the moon”

FORGIVING UNFAITHFULNESS
IN
the ebb and flow
of life there are
bright days, dark days
and nights that seem eternal.
IN
the trials, challenges, and days
when the check comes
in the mail; we are continually
reminded that we are human
operating with freedom of choices,
and some choices aren't good.

know I overreacted when I discovered
your unfaithfulness--it's that human
side again. But there was, and is,
stronger than hurt in my heart and soul
and that is forgiveness; not because
you asked me,
BUT

Your anger will unbalance you
Claimed all the wise men ever,
And your soul, with hell, misconstrue,
To think bitterness is clever.
That's evil's favorite recipe
For getting humans off their game
And is just as bogus as can be
To try and have me be the same.
It's levity that people love
And maintaining a happy mood
As if we were a hungry dove
Pecking apart a sack of food!
Our preference is for merriment

Let’s Take Each Other To Hell One Last Time
I’ve always had a way
with the petrified and scared
despite the way my body pulses
aposematic signals
from the scarred knuckles and hulking frame
to the frown lines etched into my face
and I wonder if it’s
because of a sympathetic-nervous-system response
reminiscent of the times I hid in a closet and read books
my small boy body discoloured in the hue
of the beating I took
adrenaline still pounding through my trembling flesh
or if it was because I didn’t care if I got hurt ...
