Raphium Series~the horses
I'm in my element
cool breeze shifting within me
I touch the sky and breath with relief
the ozone herself welcomes her terrestrial child
taking flight I rise
seeking the others, darklings of the air
northern winds transport me to exotic lands
where I watch the deserts open up before me
vast expanses, I trip then have visions
a black stallion races
I look heavenward and see the horses riding with him
the moon pregnant with grief
gives birth to renewal
the tides are changing
and the waters of red explain something...
cool breeze shifting within me
I touch the sky and breath with relief
the ozone herself welcomes her terrestrial child
taking flight I rise
seeking the others, darklings of the air
northern winds transport me to exotic lands
where I watch the deserts open up before me
vast expanses, I trip then have visions

gives birth to renewal

Dusk in the Desert
I swear, this summer’s sun
still scorches close to night
as I must have been the wettest there
returning home from my desert hike!
Got to take photos of desert fare;
saw a monster, orange and black
looked no worse for wear
nor thirsty for a damp redact!
Getting difficult now for me to see
few streetlamps light my way
relying on starlight skies for me
‘fore denizens emerge to play.
still scorches close to night
as I must have been the wettest there
returning home from my desert hike!
Got to take photos of desert fare;
saw a monster, orange and black
looked no worse for wear
nor thirsty for a damp redact!
Getting difficult now for me to see
few streetlamps light my way
relying on starlight skies for me
‘fore denizens emerge to play.

Deadication
There was a poet walking through the sand,
And he didn’t know it, but there were eyes on his footprints.
As he walked along there appeared a man.
The man he spoke of a world of fortune and asked…
Do you have anything to give?

THREE MAGIC DAYS IN THE BADLANDS (3-19-1989, the Badlands area of the Anza Borrego Desert, Southern California)
climbing up out of
this wild desert magic
dehydrated hungry
exhausted dirty
parched throat so thirsty
yet filled with it s bone deep warmth
a powerful energy soon surges
rushing through my every living cell
as some kind of mysterious deliverance occurs
some deeper initiation with mother earth
branded and blessed by burning sun all day long
from which some profound ancient knowing
seems and feels hidden
so deeply implanted
within and amidst everything here
