Unlike love story
Sweet dawn you are not
in your embrace I'm not reborn.
A night with you gives birth to bitter regret.
A promise to not seek you out
will not help,
I love you more than life itself.
Nightfall brings long shadows
irresistible your allure,
Our lair is not feathering of tenderness
but thorns of demanding ferocity.
A pact we made in a church that reeked of burnt wicks.
desiccated roses and the redolence of death.
Our love is agony,
we can´t but clawing us asunder

I AM STILL LEARNING
DISCOVERY
I use to think
I knew it all until
someone asked
me a question.
When I swaggered down
the steps of the university
with my BA in my hand,
the world said, "Sit down
and I'll teach you the
rest of the alphabet."
WAKE-UP
It has been a wonderful
journey since the day
I realized how wonderful
it is to be a continual
learner in the never
ending School of Life.
I'm still learning to live
every day admiring the
beauty in the garden
of life where I have been...
I use to think

OLD FOLKS LOVE TOO
TRUTH
As I sat on a barstool
beside me was a mature
lady, with beautiful white hair,
dressed in the latest style
and very articulate in
conversing on any subject;
beautiful and charming.
Out of the blue, she asked,
"Do you think we older people,
I'll be 70 my next brthday,
ever have desires for romantic encounters?"
I was very coy and replied, "I think
you're the one who can answer that."
With a smile and a touch on my leg
she indeed gave her reply:
"We older folks love, too,

HUMILITY
Words are, in my opinion,
among, if not, the most
powerful forces in the world.
With words, we start
wars. and with words
we end wars.
With words, we start
a love journey and with
words we end the journey.
With words, we reveal the
opposite of what our
resume may claim or
position we hold affirms.
When I affirm I am
DARING
to be me, I am not
launching a promise
to treat others less than
kindly, lovingly, and special.

BUT,
now I am daring...

I Did Not Kill Cupid!
I did not kill Cupid,
I swear it was not I
He really shot himself
And tumbled from the sky
His arrow bounced off you
And stuck him in the butt,
But don't be too alarmed,
It was just a little cut
Now he cannot fly,
But only limps along,
Cursing to himself
And humming crazy songs
So where the hell is Cupid?
He’s hiding out in shame
If you had shot yourself,
You’d likely do the same!

Don't look at little I
For even when they screw up,
Gods can never die.

A place of note
There live in Cascais many older adults,
some of them are wealthy widows (but I have yet to meet any)
they sleep late the internet doesn´t begin before 9-10 o’clock
and I'm up at seven, the habit of a lifetime.
The redundant royal lives in a posh hotel I think they are paid
by the countries, they came from to stay away.
Some royalists dream of bringing back the kings
Queens (not that sort) princes and princesses, better not
to upset any of them as they have friends in high places.
The mask we have to wear id a...

Notebook in her hands,
Hair tousled in the autumn breeze,
God, I hope I don’t sneeze.
Now one foot apart,
Here comes the awkward part.
Head tilted to the left or to the right?
First kiss...is it alright to bite?
Here we are face-to-face,
