Riding My Bike Far Afield
At last; i have got my bride healed
And i will take her for a long joy ride
We shall stroll in pastures of green
Going up steep lands, quitly down hill
I have really so much missed her company
When we'd go hand in hand o'er the lea
Beyond the flat hills and forest, past,
Then resting before a landscape to see
I rode my pretty bike across the flat hills
And green pastures, and the idle meads
Herds ans flocks, a celestial harmony
And the flute, was the leading melody
...

The Little Girl who Loved the Earth
- The Little Girl who Loved the Earth -
In the golden light of a certain afternoon, many years ago,
After a walk through the woods, the rays of the sun shining...
Through curtains of green, as if of uncanny paths to show,
I came upon a place unknown to me through any divining.
Past fields and forests, past gardens and pastures pristine,
The scent of the grass, of tall pines, and of earth in the air...
I came to a place where the scent of lilies could be gleaned,
And there I saw a little girl with long and lovely raven hair.

ballad of ocho rios
Though the road’s been rocky, it sure feels good to me.”—Bob Marley
i.
the elegant bus,
complete with its driver,
will take all of us
to where the big river
comes down to the sea
through the twists and turns of walkerswood.

we pass grazing cows
and pigs running after
an old mother sow,
whose grunts are like laughter;

Mel and Boyo
Chapter 1
Bird Bush
Mel was a ten-year-old boy, and Boyo was eleven years old. They were schoolmates who attended a primary school in the country. Boyo used to wear a straw hat with wide brim when he was not in school. They were mischievous boys, and they were rude to adults and children. Moreover, they often played tricks on each other, and they did the same to other people.
Both boys enjoyed catching birds, and they made traps called callaban from narrow sticks and strong vines. In the mornings, they would go to bird bush and set the traps, and in the...

rural jamaica country days
before old folk are read
men don their three-piece sunday best
as off to church they head
they carry burnished shoes in hand
in case of accident
for severed toes are fairer trade
than shoes with rockstone dent
the sunday sermon gives them sleep
to shield them from the wake
of parson's endless episode
of hell's grim burning lake
the closing sankey wakes the pews
whose snores mutate to song
then off their feet the sunday shoes
as homeward march the throng
to dress...

Words Of Beauty
Of all the times i love one
A silent stream at setting sun
Drifting crimson clouds,; swept sparse
And a rising star glimmering afar
Of all the places i like where
The land is green the air is fair
A flock of sheep of natural flair
Browses where the grass is neat
And when at dawn the bell tolls
Or when the twilight folds again and rolls
And the herd, a tired silence holds
Coming back full, for home sends calls
A quiet landscape in the open...

Movements
I sit in this cafe
Count the little droplets
That cascading rain in October
My drink without a care
I wonder where you are
Did heaven settle all your affairs
Or is it a myth like I thought
Someone’s solitude
I have no answer
Only laugh at the mystery
Cause life keeps taking things away
I’m getting older it seems
It’s all I see
Hate turning weak
But I like the burn of living
Damn the unknown
Can’t ever look back again
Yet questions loom right above me
Badlands settle
And...

Ninja -The Hardy Road Warrior And Explorer Extrodanier
He's been trained
To walk properly
He knows what
He's supposed to do
But the problem is
He's a terrier
Born to explore
The entire universe
In a single day
Sniffing every
Inch of road
Along the way
Perhaps looking
For adventure
Or a spot
Where sadly
A smashed critter
Met it's unfortunate
Demise
To walk properly
He knows what
He's supposed to do

The Spaces in Between
The drive back from the beach
Took us through the mountains
A long winding, curvy path
The views…green and lush
And high
High enough to look down the edgy cliffs
So high I could feel the glutes tighten
At the bottom of the foothill
The highway straightened a little more
And once on the open road
She added speed
Passing the through farms
The orchards
The groves
For miles and miles
or kilometers wherever you may be
They seemed to go on forever
And at high speeds it gave me a new perspective ...

SHADOW DANCE (7-23-2000, Galveston Island, Texas)
morning sun
throws its warm gold
across upon into
my shirtless
back
as its all embracing
bright light
brands this long road
up ahead of me
as i ride
and roll on
my bike
ever further
into this strong
western
salty gulf breeze
as my shadow
precedes me
along this remote
open beach road
fleetingly hiding
in other shadows
i occasionally
pass through
along my way
where larger tree shadows
so...

A Kingfisher Day
When the morning first is born
With darkness on the run.
Warmth and light then greet the morn'
And make the way for sun.
When night-time creatures take their bed
And daytime things appear;
That's the time, I've often said,
When heaven is most near.
To stand and view the coloured show
With flowers of each kind;
The vivid hues of petals glow,
They intoxicate your mind.
To walk amongst the dewy grass
Which sparkles in the light.
Their blades salute you as you pass
And chase away the night.
