Willow
Why not just sit and watch the willows.
Their branches weep in frozen havens below.
I aught to live like lost ones bringing the sorrows low.
Their trenches are deepened woes of satan.
The demons and specters and ghosts;
Lost souls who are broken while finding
Their pain is also their loss.
Who knows, why not just sit and watch them go?
Why not just sit and don't stop to block the blows?
The sky and the scene has lost all its gleam, leaves in the air still twirl as with care but no eyes can see them drop.
I have a few burnt...

decision fatigue
Decision fatigue:
it feels like a permanent brain freeze after trying
to inhale too much icecream. Decision making literally hurts, particularly anything open ended.
Small decisions are exhausting but doable.
Hard decisions are panic attack inducing.
The small every day things that everyone else
does feel like looking up at Mt Everest.
Add in depression and anxiety and you've got a
recipe for chaos.
I swore at you in the hardware store
after you tried to bully me into making
a decision I didn't need to...

Secrets - Meeting With Gordon
I recognise him straightaway. Gordon Day, even though he looks nothing like the Gordon Day you and I knew once. Back then, Gordon was a small boy, ruddy faced, with a mop of reddish-brown hair – lovable, in a way, but impish, I suppose. The guy in the gym looks like a tough nut capable of taking someone round the side and laying into them. He's wearing a blue gym vest with the gym logo on, the sort of vest that shows off serious muscle, and his cropped hair and the grin make him appear more youthful than a person in their mid-thirties.
He stops talking to the henna hair...

The lie that Passive Means Weakness
Me: Minding my business as I drink with my friend and his friends in order to be supportive and get to know them.
Them: “Trump will save America”
Me: “Ok.” I take a sip and avoid the the tangents going on around me, but roll my eyes involuntarily as their never ending rants go on and on. It's not enough that I am silently enduring this abuse. I'm choosing not to speak on it. And yet …
Them: “Oh, looks like we got a feminist! I can guess, but, who are you voting for?” He knows, but needs the verbal confirmation to drive his point home.
Me: Kamala....

Sugarcoat
verses]
The same old recipe,
This is how it’ll go:
You’ll call me A-to-Z
I won’t get a word in, never.
It’s just a puzzle piece, yeah
Bet you believe it tells you everythin’
Only if you knew, you wouldn’t believe...
[pre-chorus]
So,
You be callin’ me your honey,
But I know that at the parties,
You bet her type tastes so good
Tell me that you really want me,
Could be in it for the money,
It’s alright ‘cause you love me…
[refrain]
Sugarcoat,
Won’t you tell these...

LOVE IN MY ARMS (IV)-(4th revision; 1976; Galveston, Texas; out at the end of Poretto Jetty, contemplating suicide.)
love in my arms
here then gone
comes and goes
like a rare moon tide
sunrise soon brightened
into new day
but it s clearness

to my ever deepening
self loathing s confusions
evening eventually arrived
only a comfortable disguise
down to the beach
i slowly walked
as night s darkness
soon fell upon me
out at the end of a jetty

They returned from Vegas, minus one
He was a terrible gambler. Any chance he had he spent his money on some sort of game, machine or table. One summer the family all went to Vegas for a wedding. His nephew was getting married. He wanted to gamble. He can taste it. His wife knew that she had to put her foot down. She was stern and very emotionless when she told him, "NO GAMBLING!" She once mentioned to him during the flight to Vegas, "If you gamble just once I'm going to personally kill you! Don't come back to the room if you do." He promised that he won't. She held everything of his, cards, money etc..

I Guess Wishes Do Come True
They've been married for years
Both nearing 50 years of age
They despise each other more then they love
Many times they argue or fight, it's over petty things
They come together in the evening to watch some TV
Then it's off to bed
Most of their life it's the same old thing
Last night was like many other nights
The TV was turned on
He was looking for a film to watch
The last day or so, the air was cool outside
Instead of turning the air condition on, he decided to open the window halfway
He loved the feeling of that crisp,...

Hire Lernin' (A Novel) - Chapter 3 - Good News
The phone rang at 9:00 a.m. the next morning as Dan was having his third cup of coffee and thinking about the prior day’s interview. He picked it up on the second ring, his heart racing, yet knowing that it could not yet be the expected phone call. “Dan speaking” he said, trying to remain calm.
“Is this Mr. Amor?” A woman’s cheerful voice asked.
“Yes it is” He responded.
“Please hold for Mr. Lantz.” After a few seconds, a familiar voice came on the line. “Good morning, Dan. I have some good news. We’d like to offer you the academic dean position starting...

Put a pane of glass
between us and we'll
dance to our dysfunctions
like you're my mirror image
and I'm yours
You take
I take
you push
I push back
I pull away
you pull away
The atmosphere
trembles between us
electric
like the fracturing calm
before the storm sets in
and these days
there's always a storm
waiting on the horizon
I snap
you snap
I raise my voice
you raise your voice
we both cower ...

Chapter 19 - Coming Home
Chapter 19 – Coming Home
Brittney carefully closed the door behind her, wincing at the faint click of the lock. She slipped off her shoes and placed them by the door, taking care not to make a sound. The soft glow of the kitchen light illuminated the room, casting gentle shadows across the tiled floor. As she passed the stove she noticed the time…2 a.m. Oh god, Alex is going to be furious, she thought.
With practiced ease, Brittney tiptoed across the kitchen floor, her steps barely audible. She tiptoed up the stairs to reach the doorway of her daughter’s bedroom. She...
