Summer's Almost Over
Summer's almost over
I feel like running backwards into it
The nights are getting cooler
Almost sane
People are walking the streets with a weary step
Three weeks ago they were running to the liquor store or running from the police
You would also hear people in their bedrooms fucking or fighting
Now the boss isn't such a bastard
School just started
My wild dreams send me back to sleep
The suicide rate will go down
Marriage & death rate too
It's winding down my friend
I can still hear the echoes of the sun
The screams...
I feel like running backwards into it
The nights are getting cooler
Almost sane
People are walking the streets with a weary step
Three weeks ago they were running to the liquor store or running from the police
You would also hear people in their bedrooms fucking or fighting
Now the boss isn't such a bastard
School just started
My wild dreams send me back to sleep

I can still hear the echoes of the sun

The Eternal City
In days long past, when marble gleamed
And eagles soared where empires dreamed
There stood a city, carved in stone
That world has forever known
Her streets were paved with conquerors' tread
Her hills bore kings, her waters bled
In every arch and vaulted dome
The spirit soared, the heart of Rome
But what is Rome to one whose soul
Was born in times beyond her scroll?
To whom no Senate's echo calls
No legion marches through her halls
Yet still, beneath the modern skies
A Roman heart in silence cries ...
And eagles soared where empires dreamed
There stood a city, carved in stone
That world has forever known
Her streets were paved with conquerors' tread
Her hills bore kings, her waters bled
In every arch and vaulted dome
The spirit soared, the heart of Rome
But what is Rome to one whose soul

No legion marches through her halls
Yet still, beneath the modern skies
A Roman heart in silence cries ...

“It A Hit!”
CABONI’S ITALIAN RISTORANTE
Manhattan, New York
“Would you like something else to eat, beautiful?”
“Marcus, I’m stuffed to capacity. There is nothing else getting in this dress.”
“Save some room for me later on.”
“I promise.”
Marcus scooted his chair back and stood. He walked around the table.
“Can I have this dance?”
“You certainly can.”
Francine lifted her white dinner napkin from off her lap, and placed it near her China plate. She scooted her chair back, clasped her hand in Marcus’ hand,...
