Wings Of A Butterfly
I sense the soft breeze
As it blows as gently
As a sweet caress
Upon my silky wings
Foowa foowa foowa
I drift ever higher
As i gain
A steady momentum
Skirting, and skitting
Amongst the pollen laden flowers
Foowa foowa foowa
I am drawn
To a bright yellow flower
Dancing on the wind
I knew not its name
Just the deliciously sensual scent
Foowa foowa foowa
We move in harmony
My wings, entwined with her leaves
I sup upon her delicious nectar
Then depart upon the cooling wind ...
As it blows as gently
As a sweet caress

Indigo Butterflies
The sun is shining
The dragons
Breathe in it's rays
Whilst fairies dance in circles
On this gorgeous late Spring day
The velvet blue azure sky
Above the magical leafy trees
Lay witness to indigo butterflies
Fluttering along the breeze
I stood there quite enchanted
As i fell down to my knees
Bewitched by their strange beauty
Within the magic of the trees
Leaves hovered like feathers on a zephyr wind
Floating like a myriad wing-beats upon the sea
Mesmerising magical nature
As beautiful as infinity ...

butterfly:"Do i look like a fly?"
me "Of course not"
butterfly: "Do i look like butter?"
me: Well no"
butterfly: "So why on earth do you call me a bloody butterfly!!!"

butterfly: We refer to ourselves as Flappers!"
me: "Yes, i get that"
Ironic really, thought i would of been puzzled that a butterfly, aka flapper, could talk
But was more concerned at it's attitude!

Sultry Sensations
fluttering butterflies in a warm haze,
summer's been sultry for so many days
humidity lingers in the air,
AC keeps calling whenever I'm there
whenever I'm outside molecules of skin
rub against molecules of water within
the atmosphere's moving gentle embrace
bringing cooling sensations as off I race -
bumblebees buzzing from flower to flower
sultry or not for the sweet power
to fly, to hover, move backwards and flee
whatever threatens a bumblebee -
crystals crystalizing under the earth
mycelium too...

Sunday forenoon and a dog
Sunday forenoon and a dog
The Sunday market in the town
is slowing down, time for lunch
Chatty people leave
What is left is dust
Torn wrapping paper
And a dead dog near the bins
The cur’s snout is open, showing white teeth
The roof of the dog’s muzzle
is pink with brown spots
it must have been a young dog.

Waiting To Fly
Trying to imagine
How certain species of butterfly
Fly from England
To deepest darkest Africa
Or wherever they go
And get lost in wonder
At how they thrive
And survive
Strong winds, and storms
And that surely
They sometimes get carried astray
Yet still manage to reach
Their destination
I'd like to be a butterfly
Exploring
THE BIG WIDE WORLD
And having lots of sex
Along the way
Getting into a right flap
But winging it
My caterpillar mind
Chews on a sticky leaf
Whilst contemplating ...

Fly from England

The Devils Butterflies
The flowers laugh as they
twirl in the breeze,
their maniacal giggles
tormenting me.
The trees whisper the most
wicked things, as madness
draws near the birds start
to sing.
They sing their songs of sorrow
and dread, a symphony of chaos
Inside my head.
They flutter their wings and take
to the skies,
only to be replaced by the devils
butterflies.
So look into my eyes and you will
see, that madness embraces and
comforts me.
One final sigh and I must depart,
for the butterflies have invaded ...

Butterfly Wings
Where does the butterfly
go when it rains.
I asked my mother this once when
I heard the bold thunder
chain; I was worried.
She said, my girl have faith.
But do the butterflies have faith, I questioned again.
Because I thought
that I ought
to have invited them in.
I would have let them stay long
so we could gossip a little
and become quiescently enamored with the wallpaper twiddle...
I would read to them some verse
from the Kybalion you see, and from the tulips & henbits...
go when it rains.
