Poems about Boredom
#boredom
Poems about boredom, apathy and disinterest in the world. Poems about the daily grind of life, and how boredom can wear you down. Poetry about frustration and wanting to break free to find a more exciting way of life.

Dark Sway
I'd like to watch you come undone
until every strand of your flesh coils
around like a snake waiting to strike
We're all just meat onesies with a skeleton center
and I've had my fill
Why haven't I outgrown disaster and melancholy?
Still a ticking bomb with a short fuse
but so lazy I can't stay lit
If love is the way to happiness and a fulfilling life
why does it all bore me so much?
Like a kid at a oxytocin candy shop
Just to end up getting high on their own supply
My sweet demise will be everlasting peace

It's patently obvious to me that many Brits do urgently need a lobotomy!
By Stanley Collymore
The British monarchy has successfully exploited the mass media to convince the very gullible and easily manipulated members of the public that actually its own members are somehow special as well as quite superior to everyone else, when in reality these very unremarkable Windsor family members undoubtedly represent nothing of the sort, and quite clearly are in essence virtually nothing more than the obscene continuity really of gross inequality, unquestionably also unaccountable power, and distinctively biased influence entrenchedly linked to and intricately...

nothing
Nothing
Two o'clock this Wednesday afternoon
protected by tall walls, but I have to go
inside
the sun is too hot
It is about getting a deep, lasting tan
my vanity has no limit
gave me skin cancer
I will not write anything today,
weaning myself from this feverish addiction
My internal conversation is as argumentative
as the old Jew I met in Leeds
I will think of nothing!
Sadly, I fail to stop this stream of consciousness
a lava bubbling from its crater
The smell of sulphur of rejected thoughts
that will prove me...

Please Parliament! Make St. George’s Day our English National Holiday!
By Stanley Collymore
When you are very fortunate to be
born a truly genuine Englishman
you've actually won the lottery
of life, proclaims a regular commenter
in the Daily Mail rather exultantly as it
happens actually quite vaingloriously
and literally, egotistically utilizing the
pseudonym "Another Englishman" to
distinctly expound, his differentiation
not just simply from the wide melee
of those calling themselves Britons,
but actually of course, and crucially
also, specifically globally, everyone ...

Rat Catcher
I feel repulsed when he is near, I ought to have compassion
for this cripple, a twisted foot. an arm that does not
function as it should a beggar with scabby skin, eyes as black
as looking into the dark side of the wishing moon
this is not a man you can be kind to, the more you give him
the more he hats you and wishes you an early death.
His diversion is to follow funeral processions, but not into
the cemetery, no one wants him there
I have wondered why I dislike this cripple so much it must
be a memory of my childhood ...

the absolute is not there
the inconsistencies also do not
not even the most microscopic of faults
the tremor of the earth is not felt
and the wind, where did the wind go, in silence?
the sound of the waves fell silent on the rocks

and the desert turned sour under the sun
and the voice, where did the voice go, screaming?
the color of things is not there
the scars are not there either
but the scream is the sound of everything that moves

Comfort Blanket.
A bird was never meant to inhabit a cage. It was given wings to for a reason to spread them and fly freely dipping in and out of the clouds in the sky. That is forsaken in time as the bird accepts its situation with the fleecy attributes of a comfort blanket. Now the bird has forgotten his aerodynamic inclinations and now has no inkling to try and that’s how easy it is. To slide into circumstances, you would have never contemplated let alone live by.

This Saturday, like many others, I got up late
it was almost ten, my hands trembled,

I can live with diabetes while keeping the balance
watching what I eat and drink

their undying love for Ukraine while secretly longing
for the days before the North Stream

There was a man, not very tall, selling
pornographic pictures at a corner of a
street
Once he had all the power, one could
dream of, as a military junta took his
job, and since all he had was grand
villas were in the name of the state and
Furthermore, he had neglected to pay
anything to his retirement fund
Hence, reduced selling of naughty
picture of visiting statemen having sex
in some sleazy hotel
when those who had bought the pictures
took a closer look, they realized they

NATO
NATO
The secretary general of NATO is a Norwegian
and as most Norwegian's pro-American
and probably selected for his fidelity
He is a tall thin man, likes to run in the woods
and has been observed saluting them while talking
to his elbow
still wearing his confirmation suit which he has
grown out of, he must be a frugal type
at conferences his eyes darts around like a rabbit
caught in the headlight of a car
on these occasions, he has been seen talking to
probably sending a message to his office staff not
to forget...

So here we are a day older and yet learning more
who would have thought the blowing up of

Few knew this annal little country had the capability

This little country up North with deep fjords and

On a Weekday in Winter, Waiting
I am that glimmer on a frigid window
Through which, as the evening creeps, a bloodless sun can be seen
Slumping, as per routine, against an assemblage of begrimed bricks, concrete,
And trees that, despite their barrenness, continue to coyly undress.
Oppositely, too, there is a stale clump of sheets,
Stuck together in certain spots,
Swallowing a pair of sallow arms that pointlessly pillow a wonted vacancy,
Coiling around the legs that spread across the threadbare mattress,
And dangle low, laden with a nebulous and
Perpetually unfulfilled wanting. ...
