Offering to a Raven
We throw the dead mice
out the back door,
that were caught in a trap
the night before.
A raven flies by
and snatches them up,
an offering to him
we're so glad he cleans up.
A delicious little morsel
that keeps him satisfied,
so many more to come
we’re all too happy to provide.
out the back door,
that were caught in a trap
the night before.
A raven flies by
and snatches them up,
an offering to him
we're so glad he cleans up.
A delicious little morsel
that keeps him satisfied,
so many more to come
we’re all too happy to provide.

I Heard It Through The Horses Mouth!
I once bore witness
To a pleasant peasant pheasant plucker
Pleasantly plucking pheasants
I was none to sure
How obscure
Of the pleasant plucking' peasants demure
It was all wings, and feathers
In all types of weathers
As i bolted from the stable door
For
I was a horse
Why of course!!!
I swished, and swayed
And i nagged, and neighed
As i watched those peasant pheasant pluckers please
I think i'd rather say neigh, as i roll in the hay
As i let out a horsey sneeze
Grateful for not being a pheasant
With all...

A Gray Day
The dawn was an eery shade of smoke gray.
A storm bruised and seized the sky today.
Haunted by fulfillment or lack of,
Now just cobwebbed empty alcoves in my heart.
I'm half flesh and half hole.
Nature provides those feelings that are missing in the technologically bound soul.
Simplicity transcends.
My mind bends to figure out the summer of ends.
But enchanting was the late August lush leaves
and plump berries of the trusted old crabapple tree.
Alive I feel, like a child, a spirit set free of fear.

Sitka Eagle Sanctuary
Sitka Eagle Sanctuary
Old man in feather shawl
Bleary eyed in golden years
But sacred heart a fiery torch
That burns bright as a vision
Of his lake of heaven
Where he climbed the mirrored sky
Into the Alaskan sun orb flames
Whose grail held the secret hunger
For a bird of appetite
But the arrow of human passion pierced him
Into a broken wing of desire
No more to sail the blue lit sphere
Of the heights of rapture
Head cocked like a sly seraph

Petrified Soul
Life's stabbing, I'm hurting.
Yet the hearty chirp of the house sparrow,
awakens bones asleep for years.
Song Sparrow sings melodies of
random yesterday's drizzled with tears.
That's the thing you learn after awhile,
nothing is random, not even a smile.
Robins, wrens and a cardinal
are the morning choir.
Tweet the joy of simply being alive,
encouraging darkened thoughts to retire.
Barbaric limbs of branches grab into my holes.
Where the past me's are terrified to go.
To search for happiness in the forest of

The Crow
The sardonic caw sliced through the silent morning
The crow that knows all, is perched in a perfection of balance, on the tip of the tallest tree.
His motive is to taunt my weakness, my human need.
A bird's eye view into my soul.
Eyeing my heart as a wounded carcass to devour whole.
Fly to a parking lot and leave me alone.
But the crow continues to caw from his elevated throne.
With a sordid desire to be known.

Pigeon
Please... Leave my dreams
It's easier when I'm awake
Shooing away the thoughts like pigeons
Placing different spikes to dissuade them
That unconscious insistence of simply you
I'm incapable of fighting it's hold
You're always there in my dreams
Pigeon love... So quick to forget pain
It's easier when I'm awake
Shooing away the thoughts like pigeons
Placing different spikes to dissuade them
That unconscious insistence of simply you
I'm incapable of fighting it's hold
You're always there in my dreams

The Magpie
The Magpie drew near
I too, was alone
And felt its sorrow
Right through to the bone
The Magpie was coloured
Black, and white
Like snow on a dark rock
In the dead of the night
No birdsong came from its beak
Twas like a mute swan
I was struck dumb, unable to speak
My words were gone, long gone
The Magpie, in silence
Fluttered across an old bowling green
Sweeping low, over the fresh cut meadow
Bees, or butterflies, no longer in residence. or seen
Long ago, in days of yore
Witches oft rode...

Song Sparrow
Song Sparrow,
Come fill my marrow
with delight.
Hearts like sun,
molten and bright.
Hopeful anthems of summer,
we all know.
Stimulating imagination,
where creative winds blow.
Song Sparrow.
A colorful repertoire of song,
the music of nature sweetly plagues
the soul all the hours long.....

Natural Duck Beauty
Oh look!
A duck!
Thought at
first a goose,
then a swan...
an innocent
mistake, chuckling.
Watching it
land in the
lilly pad pond.
Swimming into
the shade.
Before I realize,
it sits at it's
peaceful resting
place.
Underneath
the big tree
leaves.
Where it sat upon
a brick
surrounding the
beautiful,
wide,
pond.
Oh to be a duck.
What a life
that must be.
One look back up
and she,
is back in the ...
