Sit Down and Enjoy the Show (Part 2)... I Had A Dream
Bob Ross spoke to me last night
in my dream he told me,
don't just use an off white
use any color your wife will produce internally
it will create a much happier picture
I gave the idea some thinking
suddenly
A small cardinal appeared on my window sill
I handled one of god's creatures with care
placed the cardinal in my Afro and felt free
I may try this experiment tonight
my girlfriend is coming over again
lets see what happens...

Positivity Spring
I sit here drinking coffee
from my ladybug cup
Trying hard to just wake up
My dog is in his favorite spot
Patrolling trespassers and the lot
What I had dreamed I just forgot
Now that daybreak has arrived
I thank God we are still alive
At my window the robin sings
Promising so much joy from Spring
And all the possibilities it brings
from my ladybug cup
Trying hard to just wake up
My dog is in his favorite spot
Patrolling trespassers and the lot
What I had dreamed I just forgot
Now that daybreak has arrived
I thank God we are still alive
At my window the robin sings
Promising so much joy from Spring
And all the possibilities it brings

Corvus
Struck by the gloss of the ebony plumage
of the raven in starlight.
His eyes an oily mystery
of the perpetual return of night.
Fascinated by his burrowing stare
at the gnarled knot in the tree.
That furnished a nest of naive robin's eggs.
Under inevitable seize.
Meaningful change has an approaching leg,
the wicked raven confides.
A need to explore the shadows
that dwell inside.
I've made companions of
the midnight hours.
In keeping with the natural order,
the pale blue eggs are greedily devoured.
To be who...
of the raven in starlight.
His eyes an oily mystery
of the perpetual return of night.
Fascinated by his burrowing stare
at the gnarled knot in the tree.
That furnished a nest of naive robin's eggs.

SCHOOLED BY A SPARROW
BIRDS
I have a
bird feeder
on my balcony
that I continually
keep filled
with seed.
Today as I
watched my friend
come for the
seed he knows
will be there,
I thought how
simple life would be
if we humans would
trust each other and
share the blessings
we have.
Today I was once
again schooled by
a sparrow.
What lesson will
you let nature teach you
TODAY?

my zen garden
I go to my happy place, I go to my garden to center myself
steam rises off the trees after it rains
they are alive and sigh relief
to be washed clean of smog they can now breathe
the weeds on the lawn are wild flowers to me
bloom where planted as Pastor Murray would say
that's what I believe, but I don't like this technological era
I think we're moving to fast you see
the winds tell me to let it all out on exhale
while chimes quietly tinkle in the background
and the song birds tell me it's a new day
the sun is shining...

Sweet Spring
Inspiration blows in on the wind
Open windows welcoming in
The warmth of the gentle breeze
Brings sweet scents for me to breath
Flowers blossom, I see the first few
Daffodils, violets, and magnolias, too
Birdsong chirps across the blue sky
A call I yearn to answer in reply
Optimism, the mood of the season
Gives me yet another good reason
To dig my hands in the dirt and be so grateful
That I am finally one with mother nature
Open windows welcoming in
The warmth of the gentle breeze
Brings sweet scents for me to breath
Flowers blossom, I see the first few

migratory miracle
1 of 30
it is it's own precious gift
the migration
eagerly witnessed by many
a soul healing vibration
the trill...the hum
an indescribable song
calming of thought
a delight simply to watch
as dance & courtships ensue
a momentary pause
before journey once more begins
& span of wings carry aloft
taking sacred song & moving on
& then the unexpected miracle
a rarity among the flock
a single singer unlike the rest
a special beauty
standing out
simply by being

they travel easy
they travel
easy,
sprint,
lift up
into
the arena,
wings open
spread,
eyes alert,
watching,
surveying
under
silhouettes
of day,
then
hidden
out of sight.
easy,
sprint,
lift up
into
the arena,
wings open
spread,
eyes alert,

under

A VULTURE HAS LANDED
A VULTURE HAS LANDED
A best friend of mine, saw and posted a vulture just the other day
he wondered, what secret hidden message they'd come to say.
Vultures don't always mean death, sometimes in fact, it's rebirth
Teaching us self awareness, what in fact what we are truly worth.
Vultures can also teach us many of other interesting things practice patience and tolerance in whatever changes your life brings.
Also, often they symbolize that we need to have some faith and trust
that all will be better as things settle according to plan and must.

First snowfall 2021
Window panes of glass
bend evening's light
transforming an espresso landscape
into snowflaked obsidian—
a phenocryst crystal, reflecting
a solitary soloist perched
on a shivering pin oak's limb
No bigger than my palm
its shrill organ penetrates
a Universe of soft silence
despite the absence
of light or warmth
'And I think to myself,
What a Wonderful World'

Aphelocoma coerulescens
The Jay flies better than the crow,
tis such a nimble thing,
like when it quickly drops below...
with its pirouette wing.
Upon a peanut it must pounce
before the squirrel leaps
after the final peanut bounce
into the mulchen heaps...
therein the peanut may be lost
to crow or squirrel sight,
but vista Jay sees where I tossed
and so it lands aright,
to blast back off into the sky
before the others know,
about the prize, or how to fly...
to where the humans throw!
