A Voyage to Hell
When my sun comes down
a blood red cosmos astounds
i appear with winter's wind
I'm free as summer's sin
sing a song this mourning
telling tales of warning
purple clouds, demon bubbles
cosmic dreams, strangers in trouble
to die is to wake at the strike of twelve
he welcomes us all to the gates of hell

There was a Universal Shroud of Turin
a Matrix of crumbed vertebrate
stained with light and debris:
webbed particles
multicellular life
a mycelium
of unsolved mystery
plaguing humankind with a gravity
they were determined to defy
13.8 billion years of expansion
trillions of galaxies and stars
beyond their comprehension
ungrounded contentment
and magnified desire
Bridges of technological design
are manufactured—
fueled by resources

Consort to the Royal power
of sunbeams at the midnight hour!
Transfixer of our mortal eyes
upon Memento Mori skies!
Syzygy Mistress of the tides
and all the waves a surfer rides!
Cratered gem within the rings
of coronal mass ejection flings!

Who are we, lost in the vastness?
Sailing on seas without a compass.
From the first moment, the first breath.
In a labyrinth of doubts and shadows.
Wandering souls in search of meaning.
We cling to the intangible.
Desperate for answers,

Saturn Through a Telescope
Saturn through a telescope
is bite sized,
like something you could scoop up from a bowl
with a spoon
Saturn's rings through a telescope
look like a little Hula hoop
or like the part of a plastic Saturn toy
a toddler would grip
Saturn through a low-powered telescope
does a bit of a hula itself
before coming into view
But then there it is.
As you peer into the telescope,
it's a portal to a two dimensional object
But for some

to questions that form at the speed of light. ...

The moon, my compass charts this celestial sea,

we make new names for old Gods
The evening sky blushes through my window
between twilight and darkness we lie, looking out
waiting for the stars through the
leafy silhouettes of palm tress
I try to teach you all the names
of the creeping constellations
but you make up your own
giggling into the deepening sky
We are so small under the burning tendrils of light
and so blessed to see them, and name them at all
