Love and War
How are we so far apart in this bed?
Sleeping with venom in our hearts
Tension fills the room when we’re together
It’s love and war between us
Since when did we become enemies?
Fighting on opposite sides
Two atomic bombs ready to explode
The battle line was drawn when the arguments lingered long after malicious words were spewed
Like a gunshot what’s said can’t be taken back
The wound stays hidden under layers of resentment
Building like mold until it festers over the foundation we’ve made
What remains is similar to a war torn...

The Violence Continues
She had enough. Many times her father would could home staggering drunk, and force himself onto her. He didn't care. He had no regret when he would sober up. Her mother knew that if she ever said a word she'd be beaten & thrown out into the streets. She cared about her own hide and not her own flesh & blood. She came into this marriage with nothing and will leave the marriage with nothing.
Her daughter is now dependent on drugs. Any drugs to release her from this horror. Pills, heroin, meth, alcohol, anything to get her fucked up and to drown these memories.

A land that's been invaded
by hate and vitriol
waiting on a king
to fix the troubles
two babies in the backseat
shame on us
took too long
Detroit's cold in the winter

someone's gotta get stepped on

sell some pillows or apple cider vinegar
