Poems about Aging
#aging
Poems about aging and the aging process. Poetry about what it's like to watch family and loved ones get older. Poems about aging includes everything from a midlife crisis, to our twilight years.
upon trees and growing old
I loved your leaves, but come
the winter, when you
were stark and naked
and bare, I loved you still more
the winter, when you
were stark and naked
and bare, I loved you still more

quick, another double ..
being architecturally and
mentally a ruin, and yes I know a ruined
castle can be beautiful,
but I was never a castle,
and what remains of me
is quite simply rubble ..

Me Cat. Com!
I know i'm in my sixties now
I'm not in denial of how
(Which means i am!)
Lies, lies, damn lies!!!
I'm actually twenty seven
With the curiousity of a cat
I'm a cat in a hat
With wings of a butterfly
(The cat ate the body, but left the wings!)
Poor butterfly, for goodness sake
That it should be used in a cake
Then end up in my mouth
As if by mistake!

hmmmmm...
that day.
that special day in
everyone's life they
talk about as being
the very
best.
I'm still
waiting
for it.

Statue in Time
More you sit
More you die
Sit like a statue in time
Hardens around you
Through your mind
Limbs so supple
Die grapes on vine
Keep mobile
Even just in your head
Jack be nimble
Head can’t think
Don’t want to be
Remembered
But I’ll deliver
Concrete can’t hold me
I’m pouring through
Set my place
In time
Set my soul
Back to family
More you die
Sit like a statue in time
Hardens around you
Through your mind
Limbs so supple
Die grapes on vine
Keep mobile
Even just in your head
Jack be nimble
Head can’t think
Don’t want to be
Remembered
But I’ll deliver
Concrete can’t hold me
I’m pouring through
Set my place
In time
Set my soul
Back to family

Everyone forgets my f**king birthday
Generally I'm not a big song and ceremony type
when it comes to birthday hype
If someone asks, I tell them the day
However beyond that I won't remind. Not my way

Colorless Youth
Wasted twenties being stacked
with the pile of my lost teens,
where the years seemed to slip away.
Adrift on rogue waves of time,
young, subdued and penned
in a colorless youth, looking for a prism
to cast hues on my fading blooms.
with the pile of my lost teens,
where the years seemed to slip away.
Adrift on rogue waves of time,
young, subdued and penned
in a colorless youth, looking for a prism
to cast hues on my fading blooms.

think nothing of death
old man sits at his desk
with his cigarettes, his papers, his books
and his scotch, but
no clocks, no timepieces
whatsoever to remind him
of the time he has left
with his cigarettes, his papers, his books
and his scotch, but
no clocks, no timepieces
whatsoever to remind him
of the time he has left

Pennies
I save my pennies
that the wizened apple of my self
might know some comfort
that the wizened apple of my self
might know some comfort

Neighborly Old Maid
There once was a young man so bold,
His neighbor he solemnly told,
Her old down-home views
Were often misused
Or was she just stubborn and old?
He thought that she must be quite lonely,
With affection he acted quite phony.
To her he was kind
And she didn’t mind
She’d always been thought of as homely.
She fell for his charm and his wit,
One night while he sucked on her tits.
He was quite the buck
So she asked him to fuck
He jumped on and fucked her to bits.
