She never listened to anybody
This was around the time I was 8 or 9 years old.
I was in the 3rd grade.
The teacher's aid always told her and the rest of us not to stand up on the swing.
She always did it anyway.
She never listened to anybody.
I heard she had a terrible upbringing.
She was beaten by her mother for being mischievous and defiant.
Her father would come home when he wanted to.
He was a traveling salesman.
Supposedly he had two mistresses, with families in Texas & Virginia.
I hated her guts because she always used to chase me home from school, pull my hair...

A THOUSAND APOLOGIES
PLEASE
It's not about
right or wrong,
or contextual
clarity or the
projection of
metaphorical expressions
missing being understood.
It's not a
matter of semantics
or who said what...
it's about apologies
and a new invitation
to dialogue and
build on pluses...
this is a kneeling request
from an aching soul.
Okay?

Perfectionism
From a young age
I was terrified
I would reach my full potential
And there would be nothing left of me
I was terrified
I would reach my full potential
And there would be nothing left of me

Nothingness
My hurt spoke to me of nothingness
and I long to let go of myself
Deep into the darkness
never to feel anything again
I don't want to try anymore
trying to fit in and still standing out
The one I love just wants to be accepted
I am cast out
I expected him to shiver with me in the cold
the cold spoke nothingness into my soul
and I long to let go of myself
Deep into the darkness
never to feel anything again
I don't want to try anymore
trying to fit in and still standing out
The one I love just wants to be accepted
I am cast out
I expected him to shiver with me in the cold
the cold spoke nothingness into my soul

Beloved Partner of the Path
You may not care much for me;
yet I walk with you nonetheless
realizing the illusion
of our differences—
You may highlight faults
of my past, and that's okay—
mistakes are growth catalysts
We are not the same people
we were an hour ago. . .
if we've learned anything;
therefore, be gentle
with yourself, and others
despite the road they walk—
we're all merely stardust and ash
experiencing our way back home

You're freezing
Struggling in chains
I'm in my warm watchtower

Live and Learn
The psyche is a lightning thing
and flesh burns like a tree
within the maelstrom where we sing
of sad mortality.
The soul is an experiment
like lab rats testing pain
and never mind the detriment
done to the heart and brain.
And in this hell we must make do
with less than what we want
spinning tribulation anew
as something like a jaunt...
where lessons learned along the way
are how the fears allay.

What I didn't see on TV
If this woman is bald
and that man does braids
stop shitting and join the dance.
The rhythm pulses, bodies move
eyes meet, smiles meet.
In the center of the track the energy grows
arms rise, feet glide,
the sound envelops, the soul is freed.
Every step is a story told
each turn is a moment lived.
Dance unites, transforms and transcends
and in the end we are all one.
Lights flicker, shadows lengthen,
fragmented moments in time,
the harmony of a silent symphony.
Feet that stumble, hearts...
and that man does braids
stop shitting and join the dance.
The rhythm pulses, bodies move
eyes meet, smiles meet.
In the center of the track the energy grows
arms rise, feet glide,
the sound envelops, the soul is freed.

AI of the beholder
I told AI to make me hot
submitted a recent picture
...& it didn't
best it could do was enhance my cleavage
smoothing out my skin a little
hitting my blemishes with an eraser
plastic effect sculpting
don't get me wrong...
I appreciate the free facial
removing bruising under my eyes
night of the damned not being in fashion
I get that
but I actually loved my freckles
& the system saw fit to delete them
crazy
should I feel cheated
or take it as a win
if that's...

Today
The early morning clouds presented icy gray.
The lone caw of a baby bird greeted the innocence of yet another new day.
As I search my weary brain for an alternate way. To accept many feelings are hues of gray.
That to stretch and grow, first the heart must fray.
I yearn for the vastness of life's ocean but seem to be stranded in the bay.
In the sea of my soul, there are monsters of my deep to slay
Below the wrath of anger is where the dead open wounds lay.
But hope declared ...... You have today.

She's! So! Perky!!!
She has a weird body
Yeah, I looked
Yes, I'm judging (though I have no right to)
The designer got part of it right
She's slim and petite
Big boobs and big butt
But the boobs are high
and the butt is low
giving her figure (is that still a word?)
a wavy effect.
But it doesn't matter
because
she's!
super!
SUPER!
perky!!
READY TO YELL MS G???
She's talking about the staff rally (why, just why?)
my school district is having tomorrow.
I'll be...
