Valentine's Day
It's a special day of
love, and it's a day to
be with your loved
ones.
But, many don't have
their loved ones with
them anymore, due to
death, heartbreaks and
separation.
No one should be left
alone on a day like this,
for some it's very depressing
and a lonely place to be.
You just feel like you
don't exist for someone
to give a fuck! It's so hard
to deal with.
If they don't care about you,
they deserve what comes
to them. It's ok to let your
emotions out, like you ...
love, and it's a day to

ones.

Valentine's Day is the day
where you try to please

If you would be my Valentine
I’d find a sexy skimpy bit of satin fiery red with subtle ruffles
to drape my nearly-naked body, showered fresh and scented—
A gift wrapped up for you to open as you please…
(with toys to share for mutual pleasure).
I would draw you teasingly to the bed with whispers of a menu of delights.
My fingers then would ply the buttons of your shirt to free your perfect torso.
I’d write my name gently on your skin with lightest kisses
One by one each article of clothing would be tossed aside
Replaced by lingering feathery touch as I’d race my favorite...
to drape my nearly-naked body, showered fresh and scented—

Beer Sonnet
I have a bottle of German beer in the fridge
and naturally cloudy, first brewed in some small town
in Bavaria in 1624.
They didn’t make the beer clear and decided to call
the brew Dunkel (cloudy), PR, yes it existed it worked
now it is a world-famous beer.
It also cost a bit more, which never fails to attract snobs.
I opened the beer dislike the colour me, a Budweiser man
of the type brewed in the USA
A band of clouds was, obscuring the sunset it was Dunkel
a sentence not spoken but sensed even a child could get.

and I don't like the word 'romantic'

sure, i like some things
that are 'romantic'
the color pink (light pink, silvery pink)
lace
beaches
holding hands
kisses
massages
love
but i dislike the fundamentalism
of the word 'romantic'
with its mandated Valentines Days
pre-conceived notions
expectations
disappointment
budget-breaking engagement rings
bridezillas ("my special day is ruined!")
and many 'shoulds'
i once happily shared...
