My Worth
My worth is merely on a post it note
that says, "You are amazing."
My worth to others,
that is.
My worth in myself is
even higher than that,
I feel.
But my worth to others
is like
a birthday card,
collected in dust
eating away in my closet,
that I need to throw away.
It means nothing.
And it is nothing.
I'm supposed to feel anger or sadness or anything at all.
But I feel exhaustion.
Exhaustion of a life
where I don't know how I ended up here.
Paling through a dream ...

The Ink I Bleed
Eyes closed, adrift in a dystopian delusion
flailing in the quicksand of someone
else’s hourglass, sinking only to be turned
around again and drowned
Who swings the pendulum, can I not
choose my own reality as I press my
legs against the glass, if it breaks am I
cut into a million stars, or am I left
whole, carrying the scars of a universe
Perhaps the universe as we know it is
merely a glitter globe sitting on the desk
of a man dreaming about drowning, all of
us have hourglasses to shatter or die

Between Our Hearts
Lots of mistakes were made
but then, everything is a puzzle piece
so damn hard to complete living on
the edges, why do we always start with the
outside of a person
We make them a shell by addressing
only the surface, the depths of a soul
are so much deeper, yet our eyes
seldom see beyond the flesh, that road
map will change and lead to oblivion
Seek a deeper knowledge, dive head
first into a sea unknown, allow your
curiosity to bloom, open yourself to an
understanding beyond your expectations
and...

thinking of Joe Biden's
dentures, make him look like
an elderly shark
Cesar Milan, the dog man
is a showman but appears
to be good at taming dogs

i kinda feel bad and a little ashamed
how the hell was i supposed to know they knew each other
kinda sucks
i could see your futures
but couldnt see this
and if i saw them id hug them til their eyes popped out of their sockets
like the old cartoons
and i had nothing to do with rigor mortis blue. that was a
shitty thing for you to say
she didnt deserve that
especially being so young

Progress
Progress comes in many forms since that day
Progress is a step at a time not to rush
Progress is also understanding
You can’t waste the present
So progress I have made
From January I have came
Back into the world
Hurt from the love that was there no

Progress felt like leaps and bounds
For those first steps of being out and around
I know now I should have never hid
Sometimes in those moments we just feel lost
Just stay focused and progress will never be lost
Getting out and traveling is a great start

how honest are we with ourselves
when the night howls
& memory lies behind our eyes
is it the heart & it's infinite capacity to forget
gaslighting us into believing we must have...
...what we desire
as if that worked out so well the last time
& truth is...
reality tastes better dipped in arsenic
going down...at any rate
it's the gut clawing crawl to the end that reminds us
too late to kick ourselves
or renege on the deal we made
to appease our desperate need
