Boy, you'd better run
The stereo is playing John Carpenter's music
The food is great and the drinks are strong
He's gonna kill you
You won't be alive too long

a flash of teeth and then a scowl
blood burning to cast a spell
devious need give of yourself
inside the dark glower for power unbecoming a vampire
in my dark tower a witch
conjuring for lust's sake
in my darkest hours brew a love potions so great
toil and boil the bones till the cauldron bubbles
tonight shall be the night, the man comes round
underneath a blackened sky
desire will spark an odd fascination
fangs bared, blood curdles
in love he will fall for always
a pink passion for his ardor
some sugar...

Lost Traveler
Let's pretend
I traveled over a bend
I went back in time
For no reason or rhyme
To be caught and tried
For someone else's lie
My sentence was death
Uttered under someone's breath
I will not go easy into the night
Once the moon is full I will see the whole site
There are men, women, children and aged souls
All out to see the penalty dolled
I'll be the last to go
Making me witness this horrible show

Off all bonfires the fire
After the celebration around the bonfires
the witches usually disperse
taking with them the energy and magic
they have gathered during the ritual.
The flames begin to die down
and the heat from the fire fades into a soft glow.
The witches, still shrouded in a cloak
of mystery and power, begin to bid each other farewell.
Some may exchange words of wisdom
or small incantations for protection and good fortune.
As the night progresses
each witch makes her way
perhaps to a nearby grove or to her hidden home. ...

My New House, with an extra bonus (collab with Vision_of_insanity)
I bought this house
It was so damn cheap
But never thought
This place would give me the creeps
When I opened the gate on the floor
And climbed down the stairs
I switched on the lights to see
I think I'm gonna have nightmares
The walls with hanging bodies
Jars filled with chloroform
With fetuses and body parts
Children preserved, born deformed
What kind of wicked mind
Could arrange such a place
A twisted human survey
Images seen, difficult to erase
The flickering of lights
A dead flower...

Troubadour Nights
The campfire heat and moonlight
in midair fell in love
and went and danced all through the night
in consequence thereof.
The moonbeams were a pale gold
beyond the amber flames
because their space is very cold
in dark entropic shames.
Both owe their lives to caustic Sol
as their echoes flower
all through autumn's lengthening call
for more solar power!
A call increasing day by day
to which night children dance
where poet souls all love to play...
with comely maids from France!

Flashing Bunny Ears
the end of a long, long school week
i get to go home and...

Trunk or Treat tonight
decorated cars

candy coming at them from all angles
last year
when i taught 6th grade
we were studying mythology

i'd found a woven plastic headband
threaded the tails of rubber snakes through it
the snakes stuck out in all directions

Untimely in the coming
singing in the eternal dark yearning
sinister culted thoughts peak
then wane on a lunar afterthought
Bloodied moon with no taste for the tide
whether it rise and fall again
but still, it mesmerizes the waters
Sending vibrations, it pulls
slowly the waters come in and out
It makes no comment on the maddening way
tortured souls reeking havoc in the pale light
flicker a soul, then unfurl temptation
and for a moment the world turns crimson

tomorrow the glow will have no...
