It is strange today, I feel sad
bought a new cell phone and sensed it was too expensive
I never liked spending money on myself makes
I feel guilty, like I do not deserve it.
I bought a suit when I was twenty a nice suit I bought
in Stockholm, it soon got too small, and I gave it
to my sister's husband.
Being the stinting sort, he wore it until it fell off.
When a child, I never wore anything new
only hand-me-down
I was OK with that.
The phone is black, and I feel intimidated by its sternness
when I switch it on,...

Fumbling for Sanity
Fumble, fumble Mr Bumble, forget the fridge today
I’m squeezeably and easily the greatest tuft of hair, I waste the day away
Broken hearts and Mrs Marks is all they have to say
When dawn it shines, the taste sublime, shall fill the bright with whining
Lifting and laughing to serious things, complex decisions on frivolous whims

The Other Side
Sometimes I stop and stare at myself,
not in a mirror though, never in a mirror.
Personally, I feel like I look better in a window,
I always have.
There's just something about my reflection in a window.
Maybe the window enhances my looks.
I'm not really sure, but I think it does.
I wish I looked like the me on the other side.
I am you,
you are me,
looking in the window.
I would give myself a like but I’m on the wrong side.

Postcard to Myself
Dear Me,
We finally made it to Alaska! It’s so beautiful here. I’ve never seen so many mosquitos in my life! They are kind of like a thick, black hovering cloud on a stormy day, but the cabin is really cozy, and it reminds me of home. Funny, we even have the same countertops. I can see Alaska's Inside Passage and Lynn Canal out the sliding glass doors. Such an awesome view! It’s the perfect picture for a postcard. Lol, my husband keeps telling me to “stop nesting.” He has his fishing pole in one hand and his tackle box tucked under the other like the Sunday paper. And now he’s...

Corned Beef Dinner
The smell of corned beef floats through the kitchen, mustard, and spices, such a robust scent. The way you would expect a man to smell, but they never do. I feel like I could drool. The oven clicking with the changing of the temps. and warming the house on this cold winter day. I feel like drooling again. A side of mashed potatoes, tangy sauerkraut, and garlic green beans with bacon. The menu’s complete, it sounds so good. I’m sure I’ll start drooling any moment now. The timer just buzzed, it's time to eat.

I find it difficult remembering stuff
and my brain developed a way to cope
for example Basil could be found
in Faulty Towers and Coriander
found in Coronation street...
Parsley could be teased from Song
which I'd sift through to also find
Sage, Rosemary and Thyme.
Sorrel could be found in Cowboy Films
just don't ask me why. In the same vein
Chervil was hid in the Three Musketeers.
Tarragon has great virtue.
Dill developed into something Risque. ...

Once I became an adult
I never looked back
Goodbye to my mom
Good riddance to my dad
Realization was never easy
So I know this show too well
The ice cream melts as we walk
You look me in the eye and you tell me
Everything I thought about at seventeen
And I've seen this show before
A glass of water can't put out a fire
But I should of had buckets ready
When I had never stomped out the ashes
I watch as the TV plays my life again
With a new main character I want to save
