Crumbs for Robin
Easter on its way
Passion gone except for Bach,
feuds compete with fugues,
cardboard boxes foil and ribbon.
myths and legend now discarded;
next Thursday same as any other,
Friday shopping; Churches closed at three
Easter bonnets, mum for tea
potato shoots and frosts.
A blackbird sings at five
his nest somewhere on the ivy,
his love, with Easter eggs. . . . asleep.
Spring will do its best
to compensate for winter,
fogotten. . . now the clock's gone-on,
The round begins again as always
of that there...

RHYMING EASTER GREETING
Happy Easter, one and all!
Join in the "He is risen!" call.
Out of the tomb He's standing tall;
The grave could be no prison wall.
The stone-roll angel did appal
The guarding soldiers. One and all
Did in a dead faint simply fall.
They lay loose as a crumbled wall.*
The babe laid in the manger stall
Is now the risen Lord of All.
We may shun or follow His call;
"You who follow shall not fall."
* "...the angel of the Lord came down from heaven, and going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His...

Easter Remembered.
When the sun glares
there are no shadows the shine
becomes
a haze no thought can penetrate,
a lucidity that reveals nothing
I saw them by the side of the road
two hundred sheep
ragged dogs and a shepherd
to look after them,
and on a hill afar a church,
it is Easter Sunday
wish I could paint the scene
alter the architecture
of the church as it is too modern
an alien in this landscape
of peace and coloured by catholic
postcard idyll.

Easter Bunnies; Beware
First catch your Easter rabbit
Then remove the skin
With practice you'll get the habit
Let cookery lessons begin
A rabbit pie is our first dish
Cut pieces quite small
Add vegetables if you wish
Put them in a bowl
Top with pastry in a sheet
And bake in the oven
Your meal is almost complete
Enough for half a dozen
Before you eat, a little prayer
To regret your sin
Children will be in despair
No Easter eggs again
Then remove the skin
With practice you'll get the habit
Let cookery lessons begin
A rabbit pie is our first dish
Cut pieces quite small
Add vegetables if you wish
Put them in a bowl
Top with pastry in a sheet
And bake in the oven

Holy Crap
Well, not many know this,
but on the first Easter morn
the story is nothin' like that one
when Jesus Christ was born.
There was a bunny diggin'
cuz that's what bunnies do
when they're not busy nibblin' or
havin' threeway hoppity screws.
Poor bunny dug up Jesus
from his resurrection nap.
His poor heart nearly stopped
and he pooped a few bunny craps.
Well, Jesus brushed the dirt off,
saw fur tremblin' at his feet.
"Aww bunny, those smell real bad,
lemme work them up a treat."
He passed...

Father...
today be a special day
little kids running round gathering candy
and boiled eggs..
now as the world can redirect our vision
lets remember this day when many painted their front door in faith
and hopes their first born remain living
from Jesus to Bug's Bunny
tell you the truth i find both to be cool
some may call me the fool
but my eyes are on You
and can care less what others think
at this stage of life
all i am and stand for be between i and You

< another god-damned easter poem >
most of you was naked
i
on the other hand
was getting close
to the end of the conveyer belt
dumping us off into the abyss
or
into all the chocolate we'd ever want
but
there was no way to find out
which
it was
it seems that way with us
all of us who vowed
to always sleep naked under the same sheet
now you can walk up on the proverbial street
and ask either of us this question
and get a...
