Feeding the Birds on Christmas Day
Behold the feast on Christmas day.
An eclectic mix of feathered friends flock
from their mysteriously unknown far aways.
Or those close by, drop in with their beaty hopeful watchful eyes.
An enigmatic warble as winter's hungry pang amplifies.
A fully stocked feeder and seed generously scattered in the patch
of dank mulch beneath the tree.
The dark eyed junco arrives in threes, to merrily peck the decadent seed.
Coined as snowbirds. Tweets of contentment and excitement, thankful
for the human that dispersed the Christmas festivities. ...

Twas Christmas Eve, the house was still,
Jane and Tim plotted their vengeance with skill.
For Santa had failed, and the kids were upset,
Their dreams turned to ashes they’d never forget.
Jane had asked for a pony, sleek and refined,
But got socks with glitter, was Santa out of his mind?
Tim begged for a bike, a two-wheeled dream,
Instead, he unwrapped some socks and nose cream.
“What is this nonsense?” Jane cried in despair.
“Does Santa think this will show he cares?”
“He’s lazy or blind,” Tim said with a sneer,

worked all year
been through fucking hell
I swear shit gets worse and worse
yet still
