I was born on the Hudson,
Well,
Slightly to the left,
On Coney Island
1pm
Exactly,
Halfway
Between my mother’s marriages,
Between a footstep
From unhappy inertia,
These perfunctory unions
Our coital explorations
Engender,
You’ll understand,
Sweet love of this shared
Moment,
On some evenings,
Silent expanse
In expectant
Stillness,
Haloing the phalanx of
Orange street moons,
Here and there,
A derelict satellite,
Winks at the wing mothed
Wildlife,
Halfway...

Awkward Beautiful
today is the day I die
but that doesn’t mean a thing
because the last thought I have is of you
and as the flames cover me
just know I'm at peace
reminiscing of the day we first met
that sight when I first looked into your eyes
you were awkward yet so beautiful
with a smile that drove me in your heart
days got hard but we fought through the odds
we were young with the world ahead of us
still I feared it would end
because I could be such a nerd
I realized in time
that none of that mattered
just know...
but that doesn’t mean a thing

Divided
Just when we get a victory,
The very first win...
Here comes the reminder:
This is a state we’ll always be in.
A country built from the labor of slaves,
I suppose I shouldn’t expect much more,
After all, this has always been their way,
To live our lives without fear is too much to ask for...
Instead we just have to say a prayer after we’ve opened the door.
Pray for a save return,
Because you never really know,
Never know when a homicidal manic may decide it’s time to feed his Ego.
They claim to fear for their lives, ...

Where is all the hate bred from?
Really? Inquiring minds want to know,
Because it seems to me you are the ONLY ones...
Filled to the brim with it red hot hate,
And it’s bottomless
You all are Radical.
As if YOU were not cause of it all,
As if you don’t destroy all that you touch,
As if you don’t conquer, rape and pillage...
You behave as if the offender is Us!
One would think it should be us to be angry,
But it simply is not born and bred in us,
you see...
Even after everything,
After all the pain your kind continues to...

Sick, Sad Little World
Where are we?
Trapped in this sick, sad world,
Where we turn a blind eye to the madness,
Where little boys think they’re little girls.
Where racism runs wild,
And we don’t quite feel safe,
I ask God for answers,
So we can find a better way.
What is really wrong?
Maybe there’s something in the air?
Maybe the decrease of the trees,
The oxygen our brains need just isn’t there.
Where the President is the most radical of them all,
And isn’t afraid to show it,
And no matter the display of his tyranny,
Foolish people will...
