Diddy going to jail is like rewarding him for his alleged crime
It’s just giving him unlimited access to confined behind,
“Now instead of licking pink waterfalls
He will be licking dick and balls,
“Now he is running hard like a mangy dog in a shelter’s backyard
Thinking he’s free until that choking chain cut off his bark,
“That is how many of us live our everyday life
Dining on danger and dancing on the edge of the nuclear knife,
“Being only one terrorist act away from the eternal black

Bibs: A love story
Here and there he snuck in a word or two,
a partial sentence sometimes on big days when the scene played itself out in public,
The Walmart auto section clientele got a glimpse of who he truly was.
Necessity had bred his personality.
Expressed emotion was but a hiccup.
Most days he spent his time up in his nuts,
Brooding over the deliberate misuse of sugar in coffee and cream the color of his high school biology teacher.
He had failed the class.
Black coffee would not tempt any fate other than the one...

A little late in the spring
Migrating toward the setting sun
was a real fashionable thing
You've heard about Lansford Hastings?
He wrote an emigrant's guide
To encourage movement westward
and get folks across the divide

by middle school
childhood is not just gone
its obliterated
an eighth grader
brought a gun to school
he's showing his friends
one of his besties
gets to hold the clip
this goes on
for three days
finally a student reports it
a week ago:
a lockdown

The grocery store near my apartment
is not exactly Whole Foods
no $7 bottles of alkanline water
no emu eggs
the demographic here
trends more toward shoplift
than face lift
i needed laundry detergent
my Cheer free and clear pods
exploded
didn't know they could do that
summer in hellizona
the housewares aisle is deserted
except for one average sized man
he's taking up the whole aisle
not just with his body
but with his aura
i have a new agey bent
but this surprises me

let’s talk about fear
of hearing excuses
for not trying harder
because all that matters
is that you’re fighting for
yourself and self-respect
you’re better than this
you owe it; to grow up
life isn’t fair
and sometimes
you have to swallow
your selfish pride
after a $2 pay cut
I am still thankful
to have a full time
job with benefits
but damned if I’m not
miffed and expressing it
right in the face
of upper management
damn near making ...
