Cargo People
(4Hero - Golden Solitude)
WWII planes
Tumbling into
Atoms divided
Years earlier
Molding
Near death into
Transmitters; and that which they
Rubbed interfaces with
They became
Building
Houses into the
Gods for
Remote sensing-
90 degrees of
Afronautic
Grasp:
Corners
Gaining
Technical
Comprehension;
Melanin
Dipped
Sorcerers
Pulling
Sun out of
Black
Matter.

when settlers met voyagers
Many, many years ago they came to our shore.
Weary and tired they knocked on our door.
With open arms we welcomed them to our home.
They asked for water, oh we gave them food,
We showed them love and kindness,
We took them to our king and threw a great feast in their name.
Welcome to our humble abode.
Strangers they were, but we were happy to have them.
Pigmentless people we were fascinated just to who they are.
We sat and listened even when they talked in languages foreign to us.
They had fire sticks with them that made sounds of thunder. ...

I used
My bottom half
To navigate
The top
Half
Into
A continual
Saga
Of
Reckoning.
(Since you
Wanted
To hear

Mr. Pure
(Fruit punch)
Sat next to
Ramen noodles-
Eating from
Feldspar: glaze;
Stationed by
Waxed
Eyebrows,
And pretty
Brown skin
That had already
Drawn the
White pencil lines
Across
Eyelids
Who
Thought
Me out.
Of the
Winged
Corners
Of their
Existence.

Janine
We continued to pick at ourselves
in the reflection of each other
before walking out the door
and since there was no telling where one of us ended
or the other one began
we made the most out of 1 indistinguishable
brown body of defiant skin
that only split when it needed
to cover ground more quickly.

where was i when they set sail and left for america?
where was i when they went to the land of the brave and free?
where was i when they left to the land of black honey?
they've gone to experience the trip of a life time.
they've gone to be among mankind.
they've left this soil of beasts and monsters behind.

children of war
Grind your teeth lets go to war.
we're machine guns, we're children of war.
we traded bombs for hands that give praise to the lord.
hard and unbreakable like a masters rod.
about to break the weak and strengthen the strong.
we're the children of war.
out of a life vest womb we were born.
bulletproof love, we stand brave and tall.
titanium minds we will never fall.
we're built for war, what do you think this fists are for?
we ain't angels, we ain't saints.
we're the children of war.
land mine ears we can't ignore our call.

HER AMAZING GRACE
She danced and danced like she had not a care in the world
A Queen in vibrant colors that flapped as she twirled
While wearing purple, the color of royalty, she ignored everything around her
When everything seems bleek she doesn't allow it to cause her to be deterred
Never scurred to dance to the beat of her own drum
Dancing brings forth peace & freedom in this woman
Like the sun, she shines bright despite those trying to cause an eclipse
When the haters try to persuade her to join the shadows, she jumps ship
Ending those relationships,...

You say Howdy?
Howdy was my answer when I greeted someone with my South African smile
How do you leave a country when your blood is green?
How do you change from Laurika Rauch to Garth Brooks?
How do you walk bare feet when your feet are craving boots?
How do you two step when the music is telling you to Sokkie?
How do you prefer sweet tea over Rooibos?
How do you leave home just to call a new country home?
How can you love the Aggies, when you were raised with Kovsies?
How do you leave everything behind just so you can start over?
But tell me this:
How do I...

MYSTIC MOONLIGHTS MAASAI SPELL (3-26-89, 'Oh My God' Hot Springs, Anza Borrego Desert Badlands, Southern California)
naked beneath
my blanket draped body s
nocturnally wandering form
as i walk on
out into this raw
primal night alone
my shadow elongates
out across this vast
flat moonlit desert floor
cast under luminous
mystically soothing moonlight
my shadow elongates
horizontally before me
as it maasai s out
just ahead of me
in graceful silence
slipping stealthily over rocks
sleeping cactus and seemingly endless
miles of moonlit sands beyond
it stretches...
